This hotel, is totally stunning, they car-parking in the cube is amazing as the car park, parks your car for you "underground", blew me away.

The rooms are amazing and very clean, also the Marco Pierre White steak house and Italian restaurants are fantastic too.

I won an overnight stay for here from a Facebook competition. everything was fantastic. from the welcome on reception, to the spacious room and arrival chocolate plaque and balloons! the room decor is fun and modern. the hotel is centrally located for everything from shopping and nightlife. the spa downstairs has a nice pool to use. and the restaurant on the top floor was amazing for an evening meal, cocktails and breakfast the next day! amazing view of the city and champagne bar etc which we loved. the atmosphere for a Sunday evening was great. I will defo go back for another girly break or weekend away with my fiancee! thank you so much to all the staff for making r stay so enjoyable xxx

Room was lovely very clean and beds were comfortable. Room service prompt.Bathroom / shower was good. Swimming pool, sauna etc good. Breakfast delicious, very attentive service at breakfast. Yes we were on the 24th floor and there was noise from bar above but if you know this before hand you could request another floor I'm sure. A little disappointed that we had to leave the pool at 8.30 pm instead of 9.00 pm as stated in brochure. I would definitely recommend staying here. Ideal for couples having a night away.

Room Tip: Higher floors on Friday/Saturday a bit noisy try floor 23

Booked this hotel for my anniversary night. After having stayed here multiple time before with my partner and enjoying our stays, we thought we would book as we were celebrating something special. We requested the same room number that we always stayed in as we thought it would be nostalgic and we found the room to be very nice in the past.

However, we encountered a number of problems that made our stay really very disappointing and that has made us question whether we will visit again.

Firstly, when arriving we paid for the room and deposit in cash which we have always done with this hotel. We required some change however the front desk did not have any so we were told that we would receive the change upon checkout. Upon checkout, we thought we weren’t given our change as we had forgotten how much we had paid since the amount we gave was never recorded by the staff. This was very confusing for us and should have been better noted by the staff at reception or explained better to us. They had to ring the girl who served us the day before just to get the matter cleared up. If only they had just noted down exactly how much we paid and how much change they owed us then this would have been avoided.

Secondly, the TV in the room was acting up. During the day it would turn green and flicker to a black screen every couple of minutes which wasn’t great and then in the evening it did not work at all.

The wifi was so poor, our phones would only connect for a couple minutes at a time and my laptop wouldn’t connect at all. Paying for £115 for a night, the wifi, even if it is “free", should be fast and have no issues.

After using our towels to go swimming, we wanted new towels to use after showering. We were not informed that we would receive towels at the pool so we took our room ones. I tried to ring downstairs to reception, however, after me and my partner trying to ring for 15 minutes, we came to the conclusion that either the phone was too complicated for two young professionals to use or that the phone was broken. So my partner headed downstairs to request new towels.

After a half hour after receiving no towels, I decided to go down myself and complain. It is quite embarrassing having to travel down in the lift with dripping wet hair and wet clothes whilst other people from the bar above who were also coming down were dressed to the nines, to get two towels which should have been delivered to your room in 20 minutes or less.

Upon reaching reception I brought up the fact that I was very disappointed that our special anniversary night was being ruined by the fact that we had no form of entertainment with the TV and wifi not working and that the phone was not working so I had to come down for the second time to ask for towels. I got an apology and a reply saying that maintenance was not in until the morning, so the TV and wifi could not be fixed until then. I was offered some drinks vouchers for the night after but turned these down as we do not drink alcohol and we were leaving the city in the early afternoon so would not make use of the vouchers. This was the only thing I was offered, so I went back upstairs very disappointed and annoyed that we couldn’t even watch a movie in bed together which is a luxury for my partner and I as we do not live in the same city and only see each other once every 2-3 months.

I remembered that on one of my visits prior that the hot water got shut off for three hours one morning which wasn’t ideal and we weren’t informed of this before we booked. However on this occasion when we were made aware of the water issue we were offered a free breakfast to compensate which was lovely and made up for it.

Therefore I decided to take the matters into my own hands and ring IHG’s guest relations to see what they could do. I used the handy phone that was provided in the room as even my 3g wasn’t available in the room. As I was explaining my issues to the women on the phone, the towels arrived after 50 minutes of the initial asking and so did a girl trying to fix the TV. So I said I would ring back later. Upon the girl unsuccessfully trying to fix the TV and saying that maintenance would fix it in the morning, I tried to ring back the number that I used to call guest relations. The number would ring and the automated women would answer and then the phone would be cut off. The third time I tried to ring back, I was put through to a woman who was extremely kind and understood my situation and why I felt so let down. She said that we definitely deserved to have a free breakfast as it was our anniversary and even be offered a room change which the front reception did not offer me. After I told her that I wouldn’t want to change room as by that time it was 11:30 pm and my stuff were unpacked, she said she would ring the front reception for me and find a resolution for the problems that I had encountered i.e. a free breakfast. After speaking to the women who I first complained to at the front desk, she said that the women on the front desk would call me with the resolution. I waited over an hour and with no call, I went to bed.

Waking up the next day, I expected the wifi to be sorted and someone to come and sort our out TV. Both these things did not happen and by then my partner told me to give up and try to enjoy what was left of our time there.

Upon checking out a new member of staff asked me how my stay was and I told her that it was disappointing and explained why. She apologised and said that she would add some points to my IHG member account. I received 1000 points. 1000 points from IHG's global catalogue gets does not get you anything! You need 4000 points to get a £5 gift card for Cafe Nero. So seriously, IHG I cannot be any more disappointed and quite frankly annoyed. You have given me 1000 points which do not amount to anything when I have spent £115 on a room for one night.

After having read some reviews on this page, I have seen that people who have complained before have received a partial refund on their stays or even free breakfast, both of which was not offered to me. The mere 1000 points I have gained, will no way be enough to even pay for half a nights rate at this or any of the other Indigo hotels, which is extremely annoying.

For someone who has stayed at this hotel multiple times, who is an IHG member and who also coming to celebrate a special day, I feel that my concerns and complaints were not handled in any way, and I 100% wasted my time and money. Every hotel guest, special day, member or not, should be made to feel like they are being catered to. However, I felt that I was complaining to a brick wall.

I didn't realise how hard it was to arrange a free breakfast as I had received one before without even asking or complaining about anything. Although a breakfast wouldn’t have made up for the lack of entertainment in the room and other issues that occurred, it would have certainly made us enjoy our time more at this hotel.

For a 5 star £115 a night hotel, you expect the TV, room phone and wifi to work. I would greatly appreciate if someone from IHG could get back to me about my stay and offer me a refund or a free night at any other Indigo hotel expect for Birmingham as this hotel as now lost its appeal for us.

Have stayed here multiple times and have real mixed feelings about the place.

Location is perfect for shoppers and theatre or concert goers. It’s a five or ten minute walk from New Street station, ( you have to go through the mailbox shopping centre). It is surrounded by multiple restaurants, especially at Brindley Place which is 5 minute walk along the canal. There is a restaurant on the top floor which is a homage to Marco Pierre White - perhaps a few too many photographs of him!!!

Very lively bar on 25th floor which can be a bit noisy on Friday or Saturday night.

Fairly standard breakfast offerings with a good selection of breads. A fantastic place for a leisurely breakfast from the vantage point if the 25th floor.

Hotel is very modern, rooms very bright and fantastic views across the city. There is free WiFi which normally works at an acceptable speed but on my last visit didn’t work at all.

Front desk welcome is very, very hit and miss, this is normally a real strength of the Indigo brand. Lifts are a mess, badly lit, slow and for the last two visits split at least two weeks apart one lift not working at all.
