Attraction details
Recommended length of visit: 1-2 hours
Owner description: Fifteen acres of glorious landscaped gardens with over 7000 plants, shrubs and trees - and a new Butterfly House. Close to Birmingham city centre, this hidden tranquil setting also has four glasshouses taking the visitor from the hot steamy heat of the Tropical rainforest with its rich vegetation, through to the Sub-Tropical House with its stunning palms and tree ferns. The visitor moves through to the Mediterranean House, with its citrus plants and bright conservatory-type blooms - and finally to the stark contrast of the Arid House with desert climate and stunning cacti.

“An oasis!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 February 2012

This really is a place for all the family. I enjoyed the CERAMICS EXHIBITION WHICH IS held in August each year in the Aviary. There is plenty of space for children to explore and play, the cafe has some delicious food but can get very busy. You can sit on the lawns and listen to bands playing if you choose the right day. Many interesting plants in the beautifully maintained grounds. The shop has many gifts and cards for sale and you can use an electric mobility scooter (best to make sure they have one available before you visit). to get around the gardens and greenhouses. Parking good.

“Great Venue”

I have attended several day and evening functions here which have always been good. The gardens are lovely, especially during the summer months.

“If you like plants, please go here”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 February 2012

Against all expectations, I had a great day out here. I expected just a greenhouse and some plants, but it was a really good experience. Lots of different plants to see and find out about. Maybe we were lucky, but there seemed a lot in bloom.

I am not really a plant person, but I have plans to go back later this year.

Good catering.

We are cheaper than many of our competitors. Our central location also means it is very convenient to combine a visit to the Gardens with a visit to Birmingham and our car park is free.
