Upon arrival we were offered an upgrade to the room we had booked. The upgrade would cost £50 and would be for one of their newly refurbished rooms. We initially declined and decided to take the room we had originally booked. However after seeing the small, cramped and dated bedroom we had been allocated we changed our mind and decided to take them up on the offer. We were then shown to a fantastic suite comprising of a large bedroom with queen-sized bed, a separate desk area and a huge bathroom with a roll top bath. What a difference to the original dingy room we were first given! In fact if we'd been offered this in the first place I'd be giving the hotel five stars. Having spoken to the manager it sounds as though they will eventually refurbish all of the bedrooms.
We didn't try the breakfast, however it looked lovely as we walked past the dining room on the way out to the car park. Would definitely go back if I could guarantee a room like that again.More
