just returned from 3 day stay in Newcastle staying in motel one, hotel right in centre of town easy walking distance from main shopping, bars restaurants, friendly and helpful staff. rooms on the small side but clean and all tea/coffee, hairdryer supplied.only issue I had was with the bar no draught on tap. this hotel is ideal for weekend breaks or business stays, would recommend to all age groups

Room tip: our rooms had no single beds even are party were not couples be careful when booking

Stayed at this hotel last week to see an event in the city. Excellent customer service by the reception staff even called a taxi to take myself and guest to event itself as it was raining. The rooms a good size, bed comfortable and good tea making facilities. The bathroom was clean and the hand wash supplied smelt amazing....enjoyed the late check out (12 noon) and all at a very reasonable price too. I will definitely be back to stay again if I come to Newcastle for anything else. Unable to comment on food/beverage at the hotel as didn't consume any but the bar area looked very inviting and will hopefully not be in as much of a rush next time.

Don't let the title of the hotel put you off - there is nothing 'motel' about this hotel and its dog friendly. We took our daughter upto to newcastle university and stayed here. The bar is great and although we didn't eat in the hotel the restaurant was full. Its situated in a quiet street and whilst parking is a pain ( go and park in the NCP its much less hassle ) its worth a visit. When we go up to see our daughter we will stay here again.

Room tip: I would go on the top floor although the windows cut out a lot of the noise in the street below.

My wife and I stayed on the 4th August. The hotel/motel was extremely comfortable. It was placed centrally which suited our needs. We asked about reception abiut nearby restaurants and we're advised about a local family owned Italian. We had a great evening there. Overall really nice break, next time we'll make it longer.
