I booked this hotel as we were planning a trip to Beamish and it was incredibly cheap at £58 for the night for a family of 4 including breakfast. First impressions were excellent. We were welcomed at reception by Katie and she is an asset to your hotel she was so nice and brilliant with our children. We got up to our room and it was quite small with a small bed settee for the children and a double for us. But you know, it was fine for what we paid. We had a drink in the bar (a cocktail which was delicious!!) after eating at the Skiff Inn over the road (highly recommended) then went to bed. It was so hot in our room but at least we had a fan and this was our only complaint over the weekend. Breakfast the next morning was plentiful and really good. I mean where else can you get bed and breakfast for 4 people for £58???? Excellent value and your staff are excellent. We will come again!

We booked two family rooms through a booking site, who’d mucked our booking up but hotel sorted it straight away for us. This was a bargain couple of night and what great value for money.
Hotel staff friendly and helpful, rooms were basic but clean and comfortable.
Buffet breakfast was brilliant, normally at these types our experience is the hot food can sometimes be a bit of a miss but here it was really fresh and regularly topped up great value.
Hotel right at metro centre and across the car park is a tgi and a bar restaurant so handy for food.
Budget hotel but great value for money for our family trip with lovely staff. Immaculately clean

It is great to see that you enjoyed our complimentary Express Start breakfast with our hot items of sausage bacon scrambled egg and beans.
The Hotel is situated just under a mile from the Metro Centre shopping mall
which is very popular with a lot of our guests who visit us for shopping trips.
The house keeping team work very hard to keep the hotel cleaned to a high standard and we are pleased to see that you noticed this.
We hope you choose to stay with us on your next visit to the North East.

Dear Pascal P
Thank you for taking the time to review your stay at the Hotel. As we all love the beautiful weather we have been having lately none of us like the hot sticky
nights that come with it. The Hotel does provide fans in all our rooms as the windows have restrictors for the safety of all our guests. We also offer extra sheets instead of having a duvet.
The team at the Hotel are pleased that you found them to be very nice and helpful as this is what they thrive on.
Kind Regards

Stayed here for 4 nights with our 2 teenagers (15 & 13 yrs). When booking, I knew from the description that there would be a double bed and a sofa bed. Plus that it was suitable for 2 adults and 2 children under 18.

On arrival, we discovered that the sofa bed was only slightly larger than a single bed. Definitely not big enough for our teenagers. We ended up getting an extra duvet and my husband slept on the duvets on the floor. Not ideal!

There is very little space in the room once the sofa bed is opened. And limited storage for clothes. Just a few hangers, no drawers.

The room was extremely warm with no air conditioning. The hotel do provide a fan but this failed to keep room cool.

Breakfast was ok. Bar prices are higher than other places. Barman told me that as a hotel, they could charge more and guests would pay it. We were charged over £18 for a pint, large glass wine, 2 minerals and bottle water. Same cost £11 in pub next door.

Hotel probably best suited to couples or families with small kids. I wouldn’t recommend it as suitable for 4.

Hi Nuala,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback following your recent stay. I am sorry to hear that you found our rooms to be uncomfortable for your family, our rooms do consist of a double bed and a double sized sofa bed. When staying again, we recommend you opt for one double bedded room, interconnecting with a twin bedded room to ensure the space you prefer.

Kind Regrads,

Lynsey

After several hours of travelling I was greeted with a Smooth Check In, very pleasant and helpful staff and a extremely clean, quite and comfortable room.

The room consisted of everything I needed for a very comfortable 3 night stay, (large comfortable bed and choice of pillows; a large shower room, plenty of clean towels and a regularly replenished tea and coffee tray).

The room itself was rather large and with plenty of room to spread out, a good range of TV and local radio channels on the flat screen TV and blackout curtains all contributed to my very comfortable stay.

There is ample choice at the inclusive breakfast, a handy selection of drinks and snacks to purchase at reasonable prices. The staff are also on hand to book taxis or to provide you with those easily forgotten things like toothbrushes and razors etc.

The hotel is about a 10 mins drive away from the main train station and will cost about £10 - 12 if travelling by taxi.

I would definitely recommend staying here again when next in the area.
