I stayed t this Hotel du Vin In April 2018 it was lovely. I've stayed in several Hotel du Vin hotels in the past few years to take advantage of their Sunday night deal and this was the best. Our room was fabulous it even had a balcony with decking and a vaulted ceiling making it so pretty. The beds were very comfortable the bedding fresh and welcoming. We had a gift from the hotel as I had upcoming birthday and we had a bag of toiletries samples and a knock at the door soon after arrival was a glass of Prosecco for me and my travel companion! The evening meal was delicious there is always a good choice and the service was friendly and efficient. The breakfast next morning was so good I love the group's breakfasts they are ALWAYS the best this was no exception. The staff are friendly and helpful and so accommodating and the Head of Housekeeping Gary was delightful to us. I would recommend this hotel very highly.

Room Tip: lovely decked balcony vaulted ceiling view overlooked courtyard great to have a cup of tea outside in the morning sunshine.

Dear mariedem06,

Thank you for the lovely comments about your stay back in April and it’s great to read you would highly recommend us! Gary is away at present but I shall make sure this is shared with him on his return.

Your feedback about the bistro is appreciated too and it’s great you made use of the bistro and took advantage of both dinner and breakfast enjoying both.

April was a while away so hopefully we’ll get to welcome you back soon??

Kind regards

Whisper it but this is the ‘cooler’ end of the Quayside where the locals go. A little out of town (not much really), still on the river with the best views of the Tyne and the brilliant and varied bridges. This is non stag/hen territory. Beautiful renovation of old building quite a cosy and personal feel. Been here to eat many times and stayed a few times-we live in Newcastle. It’s a treat! Sometimes not always as 5 star as you may want. However. Well done on sorting a few minor gripes with great customer service. Happy punters who will return. Thanks.

We stayed at this hotel on 25th August and it is a very good hotel, welcoming and helpful staff, warming ambience, well appointed clean rooms and it offers a very tasty and full breakfast menu.
BUT the hotel has a courtyard with a deck which has seating and tables. This is a nice space to relax with a drink but if you have a ground floor room in the block opposite reception you have no privacy unless you draw the curtain blind. The seating on the decking is very close to your window so folk can see into your room and you can not only hear everything that is being said but you can smell cigarette smoke. In our room one of the air vents was difficult to close, which let the smoke in, and amazingly one of the windows had a cracked pane of glass.
I gave it a 3 star rating because of this experience but it is a great hotel and in general merits it's 4.5 star rating. I would certainly stay here again, BUT only if I did not have one of those ground floor rooms. For reference our room was Saintsbury.

Booked this hotel for a family get together. Sunday lunch includes 3 courses for £25. Starter was a superb 'market table' which included shell-on prawns, hot smoked and fresh salmon, x4 bowls terrific salads, cold meats: salami, prosciutto,Serrano hams and breads. You can make as many visits as you like! But beware there is huge main course to follow. Best roast beef & yorkshires ever! Medium rare and very tender beef with Yorkshire puddings 8 inches high, also delicious and copious amount of fresh vegetables. Creme caramel to finish! Excellent value and brilliant service to boot. Will certainly visit again when up in Geordie Land.
