It’s probably a bit harsh to judge the Wentworth by its performance a few days only after reopening. The staff were very willing, the one-way signs were out along with the sanitising solution and the masks, but the systems hadn’t quite settled down, no one took our details for track and trace and our table wasn’t wiped down. But the morning cappuccinos were lovely as were the carrot cake and brownie, and so too were the Earl Grey teas in the attractive garden beside the hotel, and the views of the shingle banks and the sea were great for somewhere so close to the centre of Aldeburgh. It’s a fine spot and we were pleased to have found it.

Thank you for your review. Things were somewhat hectic on re-opening, especially as the town was so busy, but have now settled into a routine that we are able to manage. We hope to see you again soon.

Went here for a meal last night with my wife. We had planned on visiting the Regatta in Aldeburgh, but found that it has closed, and due to reopen under new management in a few weeks.
We booked a table at the Wentworth instead, and were very pleased that we did.
The meal was excellent, and the service was very good.
Scallops Bacon and Black pudding to start, wife had a lobster for the main, and I chose the beef with wild mushrooms celeriac and potato dauphinoise. Beef was extremely tasty, and cooked perfectly.
Would definitely go again

Very disappointing lunch
Fishcake tasty but lacked fish.
Over priced drinks and no drinks menu available.
When querying the bill was shocked that despite only eating half my main, a free coffee was all that was offered.
Not sure I would recommend

Lighting, fabrics, colours all go to make this restaurant a nice warm place. Staff very pleasant. Food well cooked and presented. My only comment is that customers should be told up front what is NOT available..I was salivating for a lobster, crab and crayfish cocktail (which was extra) - it was not available! I then chose soup which was actually very pleasant but not the cocktail I really wanted!!

We dined here when staying at the hotel for a short break. The restaurant was smart and beautiful. The food was excellent and very good value. Service was perfect. If we lived nearer we would be visiting regularly for lunch or dinner, but we will make sure we return for a short break soon and look forward to dining here again.
