It’s probably a bit harsh to judge the Wentworth by its performance a few days only after reopening. The staff were very willing, the one-way signs were out along with the sanitising solution and the masks, but the systems hadn’t quite settled down, no one took our details for track and trace and our table wasn’t wiped down. But the morning cappuccinos were lovely as were the carrot cake and brownie, and so too were the Earl Grey teas in the attractive garden beside the hotel, and the views of the shingle banks and the sea were great for somewhere so close to the centre of Aldeburgh. It’s a fine spot and we were pleased to have found it.
