“Great views but poorly signposted parking”
Review of Glastonbury Tor

A quick walk up the hill and back only take 30 minutes depending on how fast you go and which path you take. The views are great. The biggest problem is the useless parking instructions. Google maps takes you to a residential road with some on street parking but only a very slippery muddy path up into the Tor. The other well maintained paths have no decent parking and absolutely no information about where you are many to park. The best option is to park at Glastonbury Abby ruins and gat the National Trust Park and ride bus up to the main path. It will cost about 10-15 pounds parking and bus fare but saves a lot of hassle trying to find nonexistent parking.

This looks very daunting to climb but is actually not that bad, it took us about 15 minutes from the road to reach the tower at the top and that was with a few stops but these gave me a chance to look at the stunning view.

This was a true pilgrimage for me. I had been told that I'd never walk again, but I can now walk, but climbing is difficult. It took me about 1 1/2 hours to make the climb, but it was worth it!

Yes the climb looks a bit intimidating but take it easy and its not that bad at all. You can access it from two different paths, one being shorter and much steeper than the other.
The view is awesome, but if it looks like its going to rain, don't expect any shelter when you get to the top....the tower has no roof!!

The tough climb to the summit of the Tor is well worth it for the enlightened.
Whatever the weather (and it is always windy up there!), standing at the top, breathing in the atmosphere and surveying the stunning surrounding landscape, it is a unique and invigorating experience. Take it further and you can enter the underworld as well as levels of higher consciousness.
