Last night we decided to try Ponte Vecchio, we live literally 5 mins walk from this restaurant but somehow never got around to try it. Now we realise how much we've been missing. It is by the beautiful Pulteney Weir. First of all we didn't expect the restaurant to look so nice inside, it's elegant and very welcoming without being pretentious and has such a nice view from the windows. The service was impeccable, from the moment I called to reserve the table to when we arrived to restaurant floor when we were greeted by Danny who was very helpful in helping us choose between different dishes on the menu. We had 3 starters: marinated salmon, beef carpaccio and bruschetta, they were beautifully presented and delicious, the salmon was incredible. We also had bread with oil and vinegar, which was of high quality. I had the seafood spaghetti which is a special and it was by far the best seafood pasta I have ever had. I'm Italian so that says a lot ! My partner had fettuccine with capriolo (venison) and also these were amazing, the meat was so tender and tasty. Danny kindly offered us a limoncello to finish the dinner. I will definitely return, there are so many dishes we want to try, from melanzane parmigiana to the fillet tagliata and the seabass, can't believe we have this place literally 5 minutes from our doorstep and never got round to try it before, now we know. I couldn't recommend more the marinated salmon and the seafood spaghetti, you'll definitely remember them :)

Recently visited Bath with friends and decided to visit this restaurant as a result of the reviews. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is tucked away but has great views of the river. We were warmly welcomed by Danny who provided excellent service throughout the evening. Wide choice on the menu which should satisfy all tastes. The food was outstanding. Highly recommended

We enjoyed our first dinner here so much that we returned with friends a second night. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, the location was convenient and afforded a lovely view, and the food was nicely presented and tasty.
We would definitely recommend it to others!

Our dinner at Ponte Vecchio was wonderful!
It is one of those "secret" restaurants that is not readily found, but once you make your way down the stairs from the Pulteney Bridge onto the east bank of the Avon you can easily find it.
We were seated upstairs near the Windows, and as such had a magnificent view over the Avon River and it's gorgeous weir next to the Pulteney Bridge with its shops built on the bridge.
Our entrée of garlic bread was great, and our wine was selected from an extensively offered range.
Our mains of a pizza each were wonderful! They were very generously proportioned, and we're just the right amount of topping, crispness and crust.
We elected to indulge in coffee and a shared dessert (even though we didn't need it) and it too was beautifully presented.
The staff were magnificent in offering the house specials, continually topping up both our water and wine from our bottle, and were really helpful and available without hovering nearby. They gave us as much time as we wished to enjoy our meals, wine, dessert and coffee while taking in the ambience and the view of the river under lights.
All of the costs where very reasonable, the menu wide and varied, and the staff were very accommodating and provided an excellent service.
We would definitely eat here again.
