We stopped at The Ale House for lunch. We had the fish and chips, and sausage and mash potatoes. Both were very good. I’m not a connoisseur of fish and chips, but this was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The fried batter wasn’t oily at all. It had a light, crisp texture with good flavor. The sausage and mash potatoes were fine on their own but the gravy they were covered with was delicious. The service was friendly and the prices were reasonable. Couldn’t ask for anything more from lunch.
