We stayed in room 10 on the top floor which had some great views over surrounding countryside. We had a very warm greeting form the owner and although we were a little early to check into our room, we were given the key and told to leave our bags and they would be put into the room when it was ready - nice touch. There was plenty of information about Bath available to look at.
The walk from Cranleigh into the centre of Bath takes about 35 minutes and is very pedestrian friendly. En route, you can walk through a lovely park and come out at the Royal Crescent - always a photo opportunity.
The room was quite big with a large en suite though the roof line was sloping and I banged my head a couple of times before getting the orientation right. There were some nice touches in the room making it feel very much like home. One criticism was the shower curtain that was on a circular pole. It was a very small area to shower in and you couldn't escape it clinging to you. The sloping roof didn't help this aspect so maybe a less clingy shower curtain would be better?
Unusually, the bed clothes were sheets and blankets - wonderfully old fashioned but nowadays I think duvets are still largely expected. The beds were comfortable and firm mattresses made for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was excellent with a varied choice and plenty of it from what I saw of other guests plates.
Cranleigh sits between a full out hotel and a B&B. It doesn't do meals other than breakfast yet it has a mini bar available. It could be construed as being expensive for this reason but its location and quality of service and room size more than makes up for this.
I may not stay here again but I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay close to the city of Bath.

My family and I stayed at Cranleigh in December. We had the family room and were very happy with our choice.
The view from our room was lovely as was the view within the room, plush decore and perfect heating. Our host
and his staff were very helpful and enjoyed chatting with us at breakfast. Unfortunately we couldn't stay more than one
night.
Whilst we were staying another guest had smoked in one of their rooms, much to their horror as Cranleigh is a non smoking bed and breakfast and they were very busy stripping the room of it's soft furnishing and linen in a bid to remove the terrible smell. I didn't envy them their task and hope they were successful in getting the room back to their high standard of cleanliness.
Should you need accommodation in Bath then you can't go wrong in booking Cranleigh, we definitely would stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Cranleigh. Our room was warm and comfortable, plenty of fluffy towels and it was lovely to have a ipod dock for music, dvd player and large flat screen tv. The four poster kingsize bed was absolutely fantastic and you could enjoy wonderful views of the garden from the bed. Great choice at breakfast. The B&B is located a little outside the city but we took the bus into the city and got a taxi in the evening, the location also also means it was very quiet. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely Guesthouse and would certainly return.

What a great little B&B, room one was a delight although the bathroom is small but hey you spend very little time in there. That said the shower was nice and hot.

The breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious, the staff were friendly.

Great place to stay

The rooms are very nicely decorated - complete with classy furniture, comfortable beds/pillows, soothing soaps, extra toiletries, and a large flat screen tv. It's easy to find, close to town center, and parking is free. The hosts are sweet and hospitable. They even offer extra features like champagne or flowers in the room if you want them when you arrive. Their breakfast was outstanding and put a full-stomached smile on my face each morning. My only disappointment was that they have a hot tub for guests to use, but they charge to use it - at an expensive rate too. Overall, this is a perfect staging point to see Bath and the surrounding area - a comfortable and hospitable stay indeed.
