Highly recommend The Bath Priory if you are looking for luxury. Superb service from all staff, excellent food and wonderful spa facilities. A good location close to the centre but far enough away for tranquility. Excellent gardens and we especially enjoyed the suite with balcony.

This place is gorgeous. Gardens stunning, the spa is lovely and has an outdoor pool and a sweet patio you can sun yourself on to dry off. The service is good but rather slow in the garden on the patio even when not busy. Our room, Peony, was loved by my husband who likes antiques and a cosy feel but some may find it dark and there is noise from the patio if you have the window open which didn't bother us but might some.. The bathroom was modern and clean. Cute little L'occitane gifts are given with the turndown service. We ordered a taxi one night and it came in 5 mins which was impressive. Breakfast was excellent. Sadly when we checked out we discovered our 4 glasses of Pimm's had cost us the princely sum of £44! Ouch!

Room Tip: Peony is dark/cosy and traditional - so only book if you like that sort of thing.

Luxury hotel in Bath in beautiful surroundings.
Helpful staff and delicious food (though they may want to review portion size, which erred on the small).
Wonderful room with L'Occitane products and two pools - indoor and outdoor.

Wow what a find!! This Gem in the centre of Bath was recommended by the hotel we were staying at whose restaurant had seen better days. On arrival we were greeted and shown to the Library and told we had been upgraded to the main dining room as room had become available. Good start. Lovely cocktails and terrific canapes set the tone. This place really knows how to entertain. The restaurant was beautiful and our table in a quiet area overlooking he garden. The food here is exquisite, easily as good as a two Michelin Starred Restaurant in London. We chose from the A La Carte Menu and were not disappointed. I had the crab on a bed of celery and lovage. The deep vibrant green of the lovage was stunning as was the freshness and flavour of the crab. My wife chose Lobster Salad which was rich and plentiful and accompanied by a tomato essence worthy of a star in itself. For our main course she chose the lamb and I had the veal. The Lamb was pink and moist and came with dauphanoise potatoes themselves containing a surprise of sweetbreads in the sauce!! My veal was just right and again the vegetables right up there in terms of crunchiness and perfection. Deserts beautiful and well presented. Wine excellent selection and good value, but the best was yet to come.
We adjourned to the bar for coffee and a lovely birthday surprise of a piece of cake on a suitable decorated plate was presented, and then delicious petit fours to finish.
Peter the Manager should be rightly proud of his front of house and restaurant staff and the head chef too for the excellent work of his brigade is putting on a meal that was exemplary.
Thank you so very much Bath Priory, we are coming back to stay in the hotel and to eat at your table again. It was terrific.

The room 'Poppy' is tiny and dingy, the bed small and the tired furnishings are mascarading as antiques! We complained on arrival that £320 was exorbitant for such a poor room and we were told that we could upgrade the next day for a further £200! When our family arrived the following day we saw their room 'Magnolia' for which they had paid the same rate, it was large light and airy with nice furnishings, sofas and a large bed. Upon complaining the hotel did the honourable thing and refunded our second night's stay and gave us a complimentary breakfast! My worry is that anyone not having the evidence to compare would be hoodwinked into paying for a shoddy room. BEWARE OF POPPY!

Room Tip: Don't stay in Poppy
