A bit bias as I volunteer here but have meant to write a review for a year now! Another state in the work is now commencing so visiting the site has limitations. Will be wonderful when it is fully open for visits but a few years to go. Nevertheless do come and see what is going on to bring this building back to life. Volunteers run the visitors' centre and limited tours are available with booking in advance. Also look out for open weekends (one was May 2017 and hopefully one in Sept)

We tried to visit on a Saturday afternoon. The website said it would be open for visits but it was not. I suggest you phone before you plan to travel

This superb example of an old iron framed building has been sat empty for many years with consultation after consultation and very little headway. The sooner it is fully restored and opened the better!

An amazing insight into local industry. There is a smallish visitor centre and you can walk round the outside of these huge buildings. We were lucky enough to get a tour of the inside but you don't get to see very much - just one part of the inside of the main mill.
The volunteer guide was ezxcellent and informative.
The visit took about an hour in total.
Lots of work going on to preserve these buildings - should improve over time.
