Called in for a quick meal with a friend. Restaurant looked nicely busy with plenty of Chinese students - always a good sign!
Specials board in Chinese and we were told “you wouldn’t like it” (shame they don’t know us and that there probably was something we would have liked), and so we were given the fat tome of the full menu. There was too much choice and the £10 set menu looked a good option. Hot and Sour soup was excellent, with plenty of meat; the chicken main course (sliced on the bone) had plenty of flavour, and came together with pork and green beans, plenty of vegetables and stir-fried rice. Green tea to finish.
There would have been enough food to serve three. Service was quick and competent, and the food was very tasty. You can get cheaper takeaways, you can get better food, but at around the cost of a takeaway, Orient Express a good place to call in for a treat. Worth a visit.
