Not luxury modern, much better than that. A quiet comfortable small hotel. Warm and polite welcome from the owner, Umar, nothing is too much trouble.
NO EVENING MEAL, I believe that this will change in the future. There is a decent pub just across the road.

Room tip: Try to overlook the fabulous little garden

Warm, friendly welcome, good clean and spacious rooms, great service. Breakfast was perfect. Lovely warm hotel, quiet rooms and excellent value for money. Free On-site parking and 20 pace walk away from a lovely Beefeater restaurant/pub. Would highly recommend and would also stay there again without hesitation.

Room tip: Just ask for whatever you want, they are very obliging.. If you want quiet room etc

We were down in Reading for my father's funeral so wanted somewhere close to where he lived. The Beech House was the ideal location and I have to say the customer service at this hotel is second to none! The staff cannot do enough for you and from the outset the manager was extremely courteous and accommodating. Breakfast is excellent and there is a pub across the road if you need an evening meal. We had no issue with the décor the place was comfortable and clean and we would have no hesitation in staying there again or recommending it to anyone.

Room tip: We asked for a quiet room. We were at the back of the hotel; despite the hotel being on a main road we did not hear any traffic noise.

We pulled in here whilst passing through Reading and found the price to be about right in comparison to other hotels with a similar rating. The gentleman who checked us in was very friendly as were all the staff. I agree that the building needs some modernisation but disagree with a previous comment about poor quality fixtures and fittings! Everything I saw was in good order (apart from coffee table in our room which was broken!) and spotlessly clean. The place was a little strange but in a good way!

This was my second stay at the Beech House and despite only having stayed for a couple of nights over a year ago, I was welcomed back and we were given the same room. What the hotel may lack in modern amenities, it makes up for with a friendly welcome and a homely atmosphere. The room was reasonably spacious, well-equipped with a good-sized bathroom and typical of a small, independently-run hotel. There is large comfortable lounge and the breakfast room is light and spacious. The rates are very reasonable and the only (very) minor deficiency is the absence of shaver sockets, but adaptors are available on request. It is not far from the centre (about 15 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by road), with adequate parking outside the front door. We will undoubtedly use it again.

Room tip: Ask for what you want and they will try to help.
