Ok so the first thing to mention is that there are two Ibis hotels in Reading city centre so make sure you book the right one. We arrived on time and we're greeted by very friendly staff, parking and check in was easy. The room although basic was clean and tidy, little bit dated but then for the price what do you expect and we were only using it as a base so other than sleeping we were out most of the time. The night porter was fantastic and even let my daughter (18 and at the uni) and 3 of her friends wait inside reception until the bus arrived to the campus so they were safe. Overall I would stay here again, we didn't notice the curry smell that other guests have experienced and actually don't even mind it, you should be used to a variety of different smells when is a large town or city. Breakfast is takeaway so be aware of that but again, plenty of nice places to eat if you want something more. Hats off to all the staff, helpful, friendly and very polite.More
