Independently run and owned, this place is always excellent. The service is perfect, the atmosphere is buzzing and the food is always excellent. Family favourite is Sunday lunch- superb value at £18.50 for 3 courses.

I had high hopes of this restaurant, as it was recommended by a colleague who loves it and has had some lovely experiences there. The food was tasty. The service, however, was very disappointing.

I was told on the phone at the time of the booking that we had to leave by 8pm (arrival 6 pm). This was not a problem for us because we wanted to catch a train around that time. I was here with my mother and aunt (both aged 70) who were visiting from abroad. Unfortunately, it felt like the staff was playing a game as to how fast they could make us leave.

Our starters arrived two minutes after we'd ordered. The soup was delicious. At least three different waiters watched over my shoulder to see whether i'd yet finished eating. Mains arrived again two minutes after we finished our starters. And again we felt rushed to finish our meals. When we were too full to have a dessert, the bill arrived straight away, without us asking for it. We arrived at 6pm and were out again by 7pm. It also meant we had to wait at the station for over an hour for our train, because we were so early.

What could have been a lovely dinner, in a restaurant with a great atmosphere, was a frustrating, rushed experience. I understand it was a busy Saturday evening, but i sincerely hope this is not how they treat all their new customers.

Been here many times and it’s still fab. Tina and her team were fast, friendly and efficient. There is a very reasonably priced theatre menu and a ton of other choices. Deservedly very busy so best book.

Excellent service, amazing food! Waiting time for the food to arrive was perfect ! I very much recommend this restaurant! Try everything but the most impressive for me was the rabbit and the éclair Paris Brest, very good wine and thanks to the waiter for advising us! The only suggestion is: is not nice to “ ask to the customer how much tips should be left” or you include a service charge or it should be to the customers discretion. But a part from this everything was perfect!

Came here on a Saturday night and immediately felt the French ambience. The service here is probably one of the best I have experienced - attentive but not intrusive, all while being very efficient.

We skipped starters but saw many come out of the kitchen and they all looked very good. For mains we had the duck breast and the moules-frites, both were incredible. The duck itself was very tender and rich in flavour and the blackberry and red wine sauce complimented it beautifully. The moules-frites was everything you could wish for, the creamy white wine sauce clings to the meat in the shell and is simply phenomenal.

We then had the creme brûlée for dessert which finished off the whole meal very well.

Would recommend as probably one of the best (if not THE best) places to eat in oxford.
