This was the perfect flat for me. I stayed for two weeks. The landlord was reachable via email, and he responded to all my requests (one time the internet went out, and he fixed it, and another time I requested a cutting board and oven mitts; he bought them and brought them to me.) It's walking distance to several grocery stores. It's an easy walk to everywhere: east to high street as far as Magdalen college and beyond, north to Port Meadow, and south to the Thames, and to train station and the Glouchester Green bus station.
This is a one-bedroom flat with a double bed above a garage behind the landlord's house. You enter through an inconspicuous door in a cute back alley with a skeleton key, go up one flight of stairs, and you're there. If you need to get ahold of the landlord, you can just knock on his door, which is on the main street right behind the flat. There are skylights in the bedroom and bathroom, and the view from kitchen window is great (picture included). The kitchen has all the utensils you'll need. The bathroom ceiling is a little low right above the toilet, but other than that, the flat was perfect. I'd recommend it for sure.
