In a nutshell, A bar with a lot of history ! Apparently 400 years old. The bar is well stocked and is a good place to have a couple of drinks with your buddies. It has a huge place and can cater to a sustainable crowd.
The place is pricey and i dont think it is value for money !

I've always liked this place - a really genuine Oxford pub, no nonsense, just great beer, a really great friendly atmosphere, lots of space and always a nice crowd.

On Friday, two old friends from Bristol came to visit with their dogs, and we needed a place in Oxford to have lunch. I rang ahead to check, and was told there'd be no problem at all. They were absolutely right - the staff could not have been more attentive to the dogs... they brought them both a bowl of water and a pot of dogtreats, played with them, fussed them and generally made us all feel extremely welcome.

Oh and the food was pretty damned good too! Great choice, and we'll go there again like a shot

Enjoyed our lunchtime meal, triple cooked chips were yum!
This is a busy and clearly popular place.
They are dog friendly and provided fresh water. Staff were all great, friendly and helpful. Food was decent pub grub, just what we wanted. Would go again.

This is a student location - lively and noisy.
The beer and food are great but it is difficult to hear yourself let alone others!

We had our lunch after a walking tour. So, we were exhausted already to chose another place...Pie's and service were ok, but too crowded, no attention paid and too noisy to have a peaceful lunch. Definitely, I'd look for alternatives.
