The Tree House is a top floor two bedroom apartment in a quiet tree-lined street just a few minutes walk to the cafes, pubs and convenience stores of Jericho, ten minutes to the meadows along the Thames river and fifteen minute stroll to the centre of Oxford...all level easy walking. Importantly there is a dedicated off-street parking space (parking is very difficult to find in Oxford). Because of convenient location we left the car parked for the week. Although on the top floor the stairway is modern and easy enough to negotiate with luggage.
The apartment has been recently renovated throughout, including a good (if compact) bathroom with underfloor heating and excellent shower over bath; modern well-equipped kitchen with all Miele appliances (incl dishwasher and washing machine, although no microwave). Modern comfortable furnishings and comfortable super-king master bed with choice of twin or zip-lock king in 2nd bedroom. Communication with owners was excellent and because we do not like sleeping under duvets they provided blankets.
A wonderful stay in a very convenient and comfortable apartment.
Stayed here for a week with husband and three kids (ages 2, 4, 7).
Lovely flat. Fab location - very peaceful and yet only minutes walk from loads of restaurants, shops, bars and old cinema. One minute walk to wine shop. Ten minute stroll along river into city centre.
30 min drive to cotswold safari park if you run out if oxford things to do.
Feel quite a responsibility writing first review for this property! We liked the quiet location (Sept- students still on holiday) and the proximity of friendly local restaurants and a great little deli. The walk into town was interesting so we didn't bother with the bus.
On the plus side the flat is very spacious, quiet and perfectly adequate. The owner has provided books with local information, DVD's and a large screen tv. Beds were comfy and shower efficient. However, the phrase "no frills" come to mind. The main bedroom did not have a mirror and the second, twin room did not have a chest of drawers although there was plenty of room for one. We could have done with a hairdryer and salt and pepper in the kitchen. There were 3 light bulbs not working and quite a lot of dust lurking on the back of doors. Some pictures on the white walls would be good. With a littleTLC this could be an excellent apartment rather than an ok one.
