Friendly staff, convenient location, simple but pleasant furnishings. Bus service is convenient but it also is in walking distance of several sites. Breakfast was a good traditional breakfast, generous servings.

I arrived here last night with my friend. We parked in the ample parking area at the back of the house, and then went to the front of house to check in. The hallway is very nice, i had lots of time to check it out, as the man who welcomed us said: "wait there for a minute" and promptly disappeared. After a time he returned and asked my friend to move her car so that another car would be able to get in. This she did. Eventually we were shown our rooms. I did wonder about the wait. The rooms are clean, colourfully decorated and a decent size. There was Tap water in a bottle and 2 glasses, a kettle and 2 cups.I had a good night's sleep. The smell of breakfast starts around 7 or so, I think my room was directly above where they were cooking it. The dining room is situated in the basement and is a large, cheerful room. There is tea and coffee, juices, cereals etc. There is a cooked breakfast option, which we took. Our breakfast took at least 40 minutes to arrive which is frankly rather long. However it was a good breakfast with nice poached eggs. I think the location is very good, and I chose this B and B because of the parking option. The rooms are clean and the breakfast is very good. If I have any criticism it is that the owner (if that's who he was) might spend a little more time with the guests instead of disappearing like the White Rabbit, leaving us to examine the nice mobile in the hall way.
Excellent location for ring road- to arrive by car. Excellent location to walk into the city and take in the sites by day and night. Informed owner who can provide maps and ideas to enhance your visit. Delicious breakfast, speedy, tasty and high quality.
Stayed for 2 nights in November, to see a concert at the New Theatre & as never visited Oxford before. Great location to walk into town & explore etc. Very friendly staff, lots of advice on sights to see & places to eat. Very comftable hotel with parking and lovely breakfast with plenty of choice.
Satnav found the hotel no problem but i found large boxes and rubbish strewn on the broken path and walk up broken steps to ask at the door where the parking was. As it was heavily raining it was not a good start. Manager moved his own car to accommodate ours which was helpful but the spaces are very tight indeed. Paper in the room asks you to leave your keys if you block anyone in. Wifi not brilliant but free. Our room was no 5 and the soundproofing of between floors is non existent as we heard the people above walking around, visiting the toilet and talking in the middle of the night which was very disturbing. The shower was nick named the tardis as it was very small and the grey towels well over washed. The bed was comfortable and clean as was the room and bathroom, despite being small. The breakfast was very good and the waitress lovely, despite burning the toast and setting the fire alarm off!! The situation. Of the good for walking into town but the area felt a little down.
Newton house hotel is in a superb location as it's fairly close to the city centre. There is parking available and I expect some days it could be tight but the owner will always try to shuffle to makes things easier. I didn't have a problem we were in room 3 there was no noise from traffic and we slept well. The room was tidy, and bath towels and room were cleaned daily. The breakfast was very good and the staff were friendly. We would stay here again if planning another visit to Oxford.
