Not sure how this establishment got a 4 star rating.
Whoever gives out the star ratings should revise this accommodation.

The decor and furniture is very much out of date. The reception office doubles as a storage room.
The carpets haven’t been updated the decades.
If it was cheaper, the it would probably be ok, but not for the price they charge.

Stayed at the dial house over the weekend. It was a surprise trip to oxford so didn’t have any expectations before we got there. The dial house is in a great location for the centre with only at 10-15 bus ride costing £2.20 for a single. The house itself is slightly outdated and could do with a small refurb (one of the lounge rooms just seemed a bit disjointed to me). Very clean. Our room was a good size and so was our bathroom with a lovely view of the gardens, had a tv with channels, hair dryer and fan (which was well needed) . We had the breakfast and it was great. Cereal, fruit, cooked breakfast and toast which was included in our booking price. Lovely breakfast only thing I would say is if you ask for poached and you wont a runny egg- just mention to make it runny. But other than that a great selection and lovely helpful staff who are happy to chat. Small amount of parking available on site.

Comfortable guest house with lovely staff, good brekkie and only a few mins drive from John Radcliffe Hospital.

Takes prob about a good 15 mins to walk, despite some reviewers claiming it’s 5 mins! Think they must have had ‘go fast’ stripes on their shoes! And even a spoiler! But regardless an ideal spot if you need to visit family in Hospital or just to venture around oxford.

Heaps of places to eat within walking distance

Staff made you feel very welcome and definitely a home away from home!

We found the rooms and bath to be clean- but the beds were hard and not terrible comfotable. The staff was nice and directed us to a good restaurant for the evening meal and the full English breakfast was delicious.

The Dial house is in need of a little TLC but all in all it is a good guest house if you are stopping over for the night. The room whilst dated was very clean and the bathroom was excellent. The lady who met us when we arrived was extremely friendly and an ironing board and iron are available. There are a good choice of restaurants and bistros within easy walking distance and plenty of car parking spaces.
