Founded in 1937 and with a large and tall block style tower, Nuffield is a more modern looking college that specialises in economics, politics and sociology. The public are allowed free access to the quad, which I must say is very peaceful and relaxing.

Situated across the Road from the Castle you cant miss this college as it has a huge tower standing proud above the surrounding buildings. For some time out, and piece walk into the gardens, although small, compared to other colleges, they are very well kept and truly peaceful.

Nuffield College is one of the newer colleges of Oxford, founded in 1937 and built on the former canal basin of the town. For us it was a journey down memory lane as my husband had been a lecturer here many years ago. The college is small and peaceful, with only post-graduate students who are largely studying the social sciences, The buildings are elegant and bring a sense of modernity to the history and heritage of the university. The main quad is absolutely lovely with its water feature and plantings. The landscaping as a whole is well worth seeing.

Incredible to step through the doors from the hustle & bustle of Oxford to the peace & tranquility of the college. Beautiful architecture & landscaping. Worth a visit if you get chance.
