I booked this hotel as a surprise for my husband's 50th birthday. From the moment we arrived, we were very impressed with the warm welcome, reserved parking space and information supplied, Having been shown our room, they had decorated it with balloons and banners (as requested, but still a nice touch). As first impressions go, it was right up there with the best hotels we have stayed in.The room was very tastefully decorated with microwave and fridge, and the bed was huge and very comfortable. The Manager was a delight, and served us our full english breakfast in the adjacent establishment. The breakfast was spot on, with continental to choose from as well. The hotel is very central, being a 10 minute walk into the centre, with plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from. I would definately recommend The White House pub for a friendly place with lovely home cooked grub.If you are looking for a warm welcome, and comfortable surroundings at a reasonable price, then the Ethos is a must.

Lovely hotel with warm, clean rooms and plenty of hot water, cannot be faulted in any way. The staff are cheerful, friendly and extremely helpful. Aaron who was on reception duty when we arrived, manned the café in the evenings and cooked the occasional breakfast. The weather was gloomy during the whole of our stay so it was lovely to see his smiley, happy face each day. Sharon made us very welcome each morning with a full English breakfast, the best ever. She has some great ideas for the café so watch this space!!! The maid who cleaned our room was pleasant and very accommodating. In the late evening we used the café for some wine, scotch and coffee and it is very good value.
There is limited free parking on the hotel forecourt, however there is plenty of free parking very close by but be aware that there is a 2 hour restriction between Monday to Friday between 0900 and 1600 hours. Reception will guide you when booking in.
The main City Centre and attractions are close by and the hotel provides a good quiet base away from the noise of the City. There is plenty of information in the hotel reception regarding Oxford City with free Wi-Fi throughout.
We hope to return to Oxford in the summer and this will be our hotel of choice.

This was a perfect spot for spending a couple of days in Oxford! Only a 10 minute walk from downtown Oxford but far enough away in a residential area to be quiet and comfortable. The management were amazing, and very accommodating and helpful, and we will definitely stay here again on our next visit. The rooms are decorated in stylish stenciled walls an equipped with a fridge and microwave and glassware if you are having take away, or many restaurants are within walking distance or a quick taxi. Loved our stay here!

Tucked away in a residential side street, this little hotel was a pleasant surprise. We had a ground floor room, but it was quiet. The room had many extras for our convenience and to make our stay comfortable, such as large TV screen, microwave, crockery, iron & ironing board and fridge. Breakfast was at the hotel's own coffee shop across the road. We had opted for a full English breakfast and it was freshly cooked to order. Furthermore, the charming lady chef came to check that the food was to our liking - a welcome change from most hotel breakfast experiences. Reception at the hotel were also interested to know if we were happy with our stay. Such a vast improvement on my disappointing stay at the nearby 'Head Of The River' last year, where management couldn't have cared less. Will definitely come back to the Ethos Hotel next time.

Very friendly staff. We booked a suite for our 3 night visit and were pleasantly surprised with what could be better described as a small apartment, with lounge, Sky tv, air con and heating, well equipped kitchen area with microwave and a spacious bathroom with underfloor heating. Upstairs to our large bedroom, again with large tv, air con and heating. The bed was huge and very comfortable.
Moderate walk to city centre and limited parking available. We looked at lots of hotels close to city centre and this one certainly delivered excellent value for money considering the good quality accommodation. Breakfast included in cost which was served in the newly opened Ethos cafe and bar.
