My son had wanted to visit Restaurant Sat Bains for some time, so for a 30th birthday surprise his girlfriend booked the Chef's table for lunch and I'm so glad she did. The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. We were given a warm welcome by Laurent, and as three of our party were not red wine drinkers he selected some lovely fragrant whites to enjoy with our seven course lunch. Each course was an absolute treat for the taste buds and it was interesting to hear from each chef the techniques and ingredients used to achieve the amazing results. Sat himself came and chatted to us form time to time throughout the meal and, again, made us feel very welcome. My daughter had previously met Amanda, Sat's wife and business partner, and she took the time to come and have a word with her which was lovely. One of the young chefs showed us round the kitchens, gardens, greenhouses and the rest of the restaurant and it was interesting to see the team at work. All in all a great experience in every way. Not pretentious at all and very relaxing. Do yourself a favour and book a table at Restaurant Sat Bains.
