Room and bed was comfortable with plenty of room and for a person who likes to drink, then the fridge was bursting with a whole selection of drinks and other goodies. To be paid for of course. We selected porridge for our room service breakfast, probably would have been better to have chosen something else on the menu. People in attendance were friendly and helpful. Hotel still undergoing remedial work but still a very pleasant stay. Also quite secluded and looking across to the historical park. Car park around the corner and good if you wish to use it as a central point to visit the city. Will stay again

We loved our stay. Our room was the deluxe double and the interior and cleanliness was excellent. The hotel is just a 5 minute walk from the town centre and local pubs. Friendly staff who are willing to help.

We had a superior room. Warm and comfortable and spacious. There was a slipper bath in addition to a lovely modern bathroom. Staff were brilliant- friendly and helpful. Only downside was no breakfast room- simple breakfast delivered to room with no tray or plates!

What a nice surprise to arrive at the Jorvik on our first visit to York. It is on a quiet cobble street just a few minutes walk through a lovely garden to the Minster and city centre. (The gardens close at 4pm from Nov-Jan but the walk round is short) The hotel is being renovated now but what is completed is nicely decorated and furnished. The staff are friendly (as are the gorgeous dogs) and informative. We had a budget room which was small but were pleased to find a huge bed, large deep bath, big soft towels (and wooden coat hangers!). Breakfast is limited and served to the room in a carrier bag. York is full of little cafes so we had a breakfast in the hotel and another nearby. Thank you Jorvik for a very enjoyable stay.

Stayed here this week with my fella for a little city break and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Jorvik. A very modern and well designed boutique hotel situated in a lovely location right in the centre of York. The hotel is down a quiet little cobbled street opposite some beautiful gardens.
We had actually booked a budget but were informed when we arrived that we had been upgraded to a luxury room. Our room was on the first floor and was beautiful inside. Modern décor, comfy beds & chairs, amazing shower and all the mod cons you would need for a great stay.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a smile and wishing us a good day.
We also had the pleasure of tail wagging doggies first thing in the morning. It was so nice walking through reception to leave the hotel for a day of sight seeing to be met by the little cute pups who were very warm and welcoming.
This hotel is the perfect location if you are wanting to visit York. Central but down a quiet quaint road. Plenty of restaurants and bars within a 10 minute walk.
If your looking for a hotel to stay in the centre of York that gives the personal touch rather than the larger chain hotels then this is the one.
Would come back again and will recommend to family and friends.
Thanks Jorvik for a lovely stay.
