After a walk from the Abbey to Sandsend and back, we had a peach melbas on the harbour side, and decided that should be followed by a cocktail each at the Moon & Sixpence- as we had two tired, wet and sandy dogs we chose to sit outside! (I didn’t ask if dogs are welcome!) The place was very nice- city-trendy, busy, though not overly so, and the barman was friendly, he quickly brought two lovely big cocktails outside! We enjoyed sitting and watching the world go by- sadly, the sun falls on the other side of the harbour- but a lovely local lady said the moon and sixpence gets the morning sun- next time we will stop for a coffee in the morning (hope you do an Irish one!)

Food was very average, despite being quiet when we ate they still managed to over cook the lobster so it was a bit chewy. Mac & cheese was bland, desert was the worst cookie dough I’ve ever had and was a tiny portion. £100 bill for two was high for the quality of food on offer. Won’t be back, there’s much better in Whitby for less money. Pretty much anywhere in Whitby to be honest.

Useful place to spend an hour having a cocktail and, in my case, a well earned and very good coffee. There are stacks of places to eat and drink in Whitby but this had a very pleasant atmosphere. An attractively laid out establishment

I’ve been here several times and am always pleased with the food and service. The food is clearly fresh and locally sourced and the menu changed based on availability and the season. The atmosphere is lovely and all the staff are helpful and friendly.

After a long walk across the beach. We sat at this lovely restaurant where we got some tapas based meals. Really nice and next to the harbour.
