We went for bank holiday weekend as I love Whitby... unfortunately we won't be going again. The room was very small... the bath room was half the size. The floor looked grubby and in need of a good scrub. Breakfast was substantial but wasn't very warm,

Seacliffe is right on the sea front about 10 minutes walk from the harbour. Perched high on the cliff with lots of steep sloping paths that lead down to the promenade with a very long row of pretty beach huts. Not really suitable for children who want a beach holiday as it's about a 10 minute steep walk downhill. Staff are very friendly and the breakfasts are superb. Had one evening meal here in our short stay and it was good. Our bedroom sadly doesn't overlook the sea but the cricket ground. Spotlessly clean with a very good sized bathroom and huge shower.

Visited this hotel last week and it is well worth a visit. We arrived late afternoon but checked in straight away. Receptionist on arrival was very helpful in giving advice on parking which can be an issue as parking at the hotel is limited. Room 4 is good with brilliant sea views but wardrobe space was limited but ok for an overnight stay. Breakfast was very good and really set us up for the day exploring the lovely town of Whitby. Pay The Seacliffe a visit, you won't be disappointed

Room Tip: Room 4 has excellent views of the harbour

Visited March 2017 for an anniversary trip. Initially placed in a newly renovated room view completely obstructed by scaffolding which reception said "we can't do anything about that". Entered this room and very strong overpowering smell of paint. I asked to change rooms and was moved to a nice room with a nice view - makes me wonder why we wernt given this to start with. Breakfast - my partners kippers very good, my scrambled egg cold and waterlogged and could not eat this. The location is very good and free parking is a plus but I'm afraid I would not come again as so many cheaper and nicer places in the same region.
