Me and my friends came here at the weekend and we had a fantastic stay! The place itself was beautiful. We booked to stay in a luxury glamping pod and it was great! We had a BBQ, a fire, double bed, double sofa bed, toilet, sink, fridge, table and chairs ... Everything we needed really! We had such a good weekend and would definitely return again

I last visited the cafe over a decade ago and there has been a vast amount of development since then. This is a really well thought-out business. The yurts appear to be good fun with real double beds in. The glamping pods look clean and well kept with all the essentials in place and are set in a reasonably secluded area.

The cafe is clean, well-appointed and offers a reasonable range of snacks, sandwiches and hot food at lunchtime. We were there on Sunday, so the obvious choice was roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and seasonal veg. One of our party wanted the steak and ale pie but went off piste to order different veg and a Yorkshire pudding too and the staff were very happy to accommodate that change.

The plates were all cleared - testament to the chef's cooking. The only comment is that people like Yorkshire puddings done different ways. These were done crispy, with little of the "claggy" texture you sometimes can get.

We arrived early having reserved a table and went for a walk beforehand. Stunning views from the top of the hill. There is also plenty of room outside on the patio to eat and drink, especially in the glorious sunshine we have had recently.

This is ideally placed to get the day trippers as well as the walkers in the Cleveland Way.

And the shop is somewhere you can easily spend your time and money!

Me and my boyfriend stayed over Sunday night to celebrate our anniversary. The pods are fairly basic but nether less clean and tidy. The pod was situated over looking a pond which was a lovely touch. The surroundings were peaceful and scenic. We had a BBQ on the evening which was lovely and had no interruptions throughout our stay. However I have to state that the mattress in the pods was possibly the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on both me and my boyfriend had a bad back in the morning and were only in our 20's these could really do with sorting. In addition it would have been nice to have fitted handwash/ washing up liquid in the pods as well tea and coffee condiments like most camp sites just these are the kind of things you don't think about bringing for a one night stay. But overall a lovely stay and would definitely return if the mattress was changed.

I haven't visited the cafe since the place changed hands, however the walks are amazing and the paths are still very well kept. You can see for miles when you're at the top. There is no issue with the parking even when busy too, very well managed.

What a well organised and clean site this is. Lord stones is a delight. Good enthusiastic staff. Claire in the shop is awesome. Major footpaths and routes are through the site and in the surrounding areas. Great hiking and our night walk bagged us a wild deer grazing in the moonlight. Stunning views from the hilltop and ridge. Wood burner in the yurt, but I'll bring my own wood next time. It's a bit expensive to buy there. Shower block is secure and clean. A great venue for a little family adventure, and a night or two under canvass, Glamping at it finest
