Incredible service

Exceptional experience. We went for a half term mini break with our three year old. The service was amazing and our little boy was utterly charmed by Darren, who was just so friendly. Carla at breakfast was also lovely and so kind. Room was very clean, and food great value. All staff were well on top of the covid situation and we couldn’t have been better looked after. Top notch.

Bleak!

2 nights was more than enough! The hotel was tired and soulless and although set in large grounds there was not a plant or bench in sight.
Dinner was awful and tasteless in a depressing area.
We won't be returning.

good value but needs some work

Very accommodating with rooms as we needed a regular, family and disabled and they put us all near to each other. Considering COVID the stay in general was OK but breakfast was shocking. Waiting over 5 minutes to be seating just staff running past us. They eventually bought a plate of teabags/coffee and a pot of water enough for two cups for 5 people. Must have been another 10 mins before we could get more water. Went for Cerals -no bowls had to ask and wait again. Then went for toast - no bread had to ask and stand and wait again at the toaster. There was a tray for waters and fruit juice again these ran out. My husband asked one waitress for water and she said i am busy! One waitress dark hair was lovely and helped us but the whole thing really was a nighmare. If they just employed one more person to stock everything up and walk round with water for tea and coffee it would be a completely different experience.

Broken window, no air con - Go to the other one

Rooms are in a poor state, First room window did not open or close, second room had paper thin windows, so no sleep due to noise. The aircon didn't work. Family rooms, should not be called family if they are that small. Stay down the road at Carow road.

Average stay in dated hotel

Spent three nights at the hotel. They have the whole COVID planning sorted very well. Location is also good. Located about a 5min drive from the city centre and with supermarkets and shops nearby. Parking is free and though the car park is large, it does get full at times.

The hotel is generally quite dated and this shows in the corridors and rooms. Out bathroom door was damaged with what looked like a poor repair attempt. The shower gel holder on the wall was falling off and the shower wasn't exactly powerful. Room aircon was fine and the lighting, TV etc were all good. Disappointed that there was no fridge in the room.

Paid extra for breakfast on one of the days. Big mistake. Most things had run out and the drinks were served in paper cups. Not impressed as my kids had to then get food from elsewhere. I did get my money back on the breakfasts.

The pool is nice and with the COVID planning, numbers are limited so booking is needed. Whilst slightly inconvenient that we had to go at a booked slot, we did end up having the whole pool to ourselves.
