In summary this is a beautiful pub but let down by terrible service and even worse food.
We booked for a group of 6 adults at Sunday lunch. When we arrived the dining room was full of several children’s parties. Of course this is fair enough but as a group of grown ups we asked to be seated in the far corner where it was quieter.
Half an hour later we had to find our own seats in the bar area but we had to clear the table ourselves. After ordering we waited and waited for our food to arrive and when it did it was stone cold. The roast beef cost £19 and only included one slice of meat.
After complaining the management assured us this was just a bad day. After reading the reviews I think not.
