i have attended this restaurant several times and though the food and ambience is good they staff simply cannot cope. My September experience was the worst yet (and my last): i was dinning between two Proms at the next door Albert Hall and from booking the table to arriving in the restaurant told everyone that i had less than 90 minutes to order and eat which i was reassured wouldn't be a problem. there were too few staff in the restaurant and the priority appeared to be burger order for the bar next door. in the end we had to leave before our main course arrived or we wouldn't have been in time for the start of the concert. i complained in writing to the Manager the next day and have yet to receive a reply.

When we arrived we asked if we could have dinner in the restaurant that evening, the receptionist called a colleague and then proceeded to make a great fuss about how busy the restaurant was and it was only because we were staying at the hotel that we were able to have a dinner reservation for 7.30pm. When we arrived at 7.30 two people were leaving the restaurant, during the next hour and a half my wife and I were the only diners in the restaurant. We had been looking forward to enjoying a meal in restaurant full of character and atomosphere instead it was like being in the library, with more staff than customers. A couple of other small details that spoilt an otherwise pleasant stay were WIFI that did not work and no teaspoons for making a morning cup of tea. You could pay an extra £15 for upgraded WIFI, which most other hotels stopped doing a long time ago.

This restaurant is a absolute disgrace, the food is appalling, the portions are the smallest I have ever seen.
They than put a 10% service charge on the bill.

190 used to be a really buzzy place - sadly no longer. Very difficult to chose from the 'set' menu and people sitting next to us felt the same. Service was like Fawlty Towers and for what we ate it was far too over priced. Trying to be too clever with the dishes

OMG the food here is amazing - go go go - you will not be disappointed - great service too. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves when we went which made it even more special.
