I have been going to this restaurant for years. I have never walked out of the restaurant without thinking 'thats the best meal I've ever had'. The consistant standard of culinary expertise is without doubt of the highest order.
RSJ has a faithful following but it deserves to be more widely known. The set Menu's are great value.
The Owner is one of the UK's leading Loire wine specialist's. The wine list has an amazing choice of the top Loire wine producers offerings. If its all to much just ask the staff to chose....you will always end up with a super wine that goes with your meal.
Give this restaurant a chance to impress and I guarantee that you will return!!

For a pre-theatre meal (Old Vic 5 minute walk), this restaurant takes some beating. We have eaten here several times, and never been disappointed. The menu changes, but the food is always excellent. With quick service (especially if you tell them you are going to the theatre) and an extensive wine list, what's not to like?

Visited with friends. The fixed price 3 course dinner at £19 must be one of the best deals in London. The quality was outstanding for the price. If I had a criticism it would be the wine list. The prices are good but the range of wines is a bit limited for me.

Had a fabulous evening here with friends, having been given the task of finding a decent restaurant within walking distance of Waterloo. This was a bit of a punt, but based on reviews we decided to give it a go. The food was absolutely superb - Oysters were fresh, and T-Bone steak with snails was well cooked and obscenely indulgent.. Wines were also excellent and everything was very well priced.. My only criticism if i have one is that the dining room is not very inspiring - Paper table cloths at this price-point are disappointing, and the staff whilst friendly, and for the most part excellent, were not as attentive as we would have liked in filling up the water jugs even when repeatedly asked. However these are small gripes for what was otherwise a superb meal. I highly recommend seeking it out!
