Whether you are a devotee of contemporary art or not, The Saatchi is still well worth visiting if only to enjoy the building. If you are a modern art enthusiast, then welcome to Mecca! It doesn’t get much better than this!!
The exhibits frequently change, so visit often... personally I will find any excuse to spend a couple of hours here; and best of all, it is totally free!

Took my friend for afternoon tea here on her birthday to start the day off! It cost 17pounds for two people, which I thought was reasonable. The perfect amount amount of food, three small sandwiches and three miniature deserts: all yummy. Not a big selection of teas if you love tea and want something different. The gallery is very spacious and always exhibits interesting and thought provoking pieces. Thoroughly enjoyed it

A free, superbly curated haven for modern art. Mainly dedicated for changing exhibitions, the Saatchi is impressively curated and located in a lovingly renovated building right next to Sloane Square. Highly recommended for anyone who likes modern art.

This should really get one out of five points. Saatchi is a prominent Tory which is normally indicative of having awful taste and no class whatsoever. It is alleged that his gallery exists so as to increase the re-sale price of all the works displayed therein.
However, it is full of new modern art which is changed frequently, with one exception. Clearly a lot of people have enough faith in Saatchi's choices to make the trek out to Sloane Square, which had previously only known for being the home of the Royal Court theatre and being a ghetto for the inbred.
The gallery is housed in a large building off Kings Road and has twelve galleries which each house an ever changing selection of modern art. This may range from the normal pictures/sculptures to a vitrine full of fairies at war with Hell's Angels or a room full of (working) speakers recovered from a rubbish tip. Gallery 13 has the one semi-permanent work, 20:50 which is rather hard to describe. When I last was there it was no longer possible to enter it (which is like drowning in an optical illusion) because of health and safety and/or dry cleaning bills. You can still stand in the gallery and see it.
It is all free, and most of the staff appear to have a sense of humour which probably comes from being asked "what's all this about?" a hundred times a day. I can't really argue that it is "better" than the Tate or Tate Modern but I certainly visit it far more frequently.

This is my favorite art gallery in Europe. Charles Saatchi has accumulated one of the top private art collections in the world and it's on view to the public for free. The collection is housed in a lovely building near Sloane Square. If you love art you can't miss an opportunity to view their collection.
