I never got to stay here in the end but it sounds like it was a godsend. I had booked a twin room for myself and friend despite the poor reviews as I'm more then able to slum it for a few days and it was cheap and central (zone 1) which were my main criteria. But then I got an email literally a day before I was due to fly out saying that the hostel had been closed for emergency repairs and that they were relocating us to their sister hostel in Woolwhich Arsenal which was zone 4, literally the opposite end of town to where we were meant to be staying. No hint of an apology or a discount on my booking.
Now I understand if the hostel was unsafe to be in but even a few days notice would have been better then the day before. Thankfully I ended up finding the great Tune hotel on Liverpool st. at the last minute which was actually the same price as the hostel and on a last minute booking. I'm also glad to see that it looks like the hostel has been removed from the Hostelbookers website which is where I had booked it originally. Avoid at all costs.More
