What's a hotel as it's most functional? A place to sleep and relax at night? At a dash of quirkiness, an enormous bed, mood lighting, and a sense of visual fun reflected in the decor and staff that are helpful but not obtrusive and you have Citizen M.

It makes no claims to be a hotel of the standard mold but could possibly stand as a Tate Modern piece in its own right. Not outré but modish.

Personally, we can't wait for the NYC venue to open :)

Hotel is very stylish and confmfortable. Everything is cozy and sharp and available at your fingertips. If you are young and tech-savvy, this hotel will suits every need of yours and make some of you fantasies come true about home automation.
The free movie collection is a GREAT plus!!
Rooms are right sized (but for london standards are perfect) and designed with attention to details. You'll find a big drawer under your bed to store your suitcases open, so that you won't need to hang your robes (as ususally i don't when i stay for few days).

It's THE perfect solution for traveling light and smart!!

Room Tip: Ask for internal court facing rooms. You have plenty of breakfast options just in front of the hotel ;)

This is a great hotel stashed away on the south side of the Thames. Just along from London Bridge station, you are one block back from the South Bank of the Thames. If you cross the main road and head straight for the river you arrive at the Tate Modern and thereby within easy reach of St Paul's across the 'wobbly' bridge, or the delights of the South Bank region.

The hotel itself is a fusion of a trendy bookshop, a designer bar and a bistro eatery. Lots of colour and designer items thrown together in a Scandinavian style. The open reception/dining/relaxation area was popular with guests and passers-by popping in for a post-work drink or food, giving it a bit of atmosphere without being overcrowded.

The rooms are similar to the Tokyo 'pod' lifestyle apartments. A tad small but everything neatly packed in and given the size it all works and doesn't feel cramped. The room is operated by a tablet PC letting you control lighting, heating, blinds and entertainment. Entertainment provides a good stock of recent movies free on demand through a decent flatscreen TV, music, free internet browsing and access to the book/magazine store (via the tablet). Through in a very comfy bed and you have all your modern home comforts.

Storage is a little challenging, with the hanging space being a bit limited but it's fine if you only want a hang a few things. The shower was great, offering the choice of overhead mounted rainfall or the handheld blaster =)

Neatly tucked away on each floor is a pressing station, with a top-notch iron and other clean-up tools. This was much appreciated instead of waiting for an iron to be delivered to the room, wrestling with it and then finding it sitting in the room for the next few days.

Last comment is on the food - absolutely great. I'm picky about what I eat and the breakfast was fantastic with a range of organic cereals, natural yoghurts, fruits etc. There was also the continental (pastries, toasts) and English options (sausage, eggs, bacon).

I really enjoyed the place and it's ambiance. It could be challenging with young kids (?) but for my few days it was perfect.

A very comfortable hotel. The rooms are small but very neatly constructed. It´s compact living.
It is very modern whith an e-pad that you use to control lights, blinds, tv/internet.
De lobby-area is colourful and inviting. The breakfast delicious.

Room Tip: One could choose between rooms facing an inner yard or the street outside. I had a room facing the inner yard and heard almost no noice from the traffic.

Great stay at the hotel where once you've grown past the small size of the room you start enjoying the fun gadgets and especially the very good sleeping experience. The lobby lounge is incredibly inviting and comfortable, will most certainly come back to the hotel.
