Who ever graded this hotel clearly left with more money than they came in with!!
Let's put it this way this is a 1* hotel. I've stayed in worst and like always you get what you paid for.
I'm guessing you've read the horror stories or are about to before you've booked this hotel.
I'm a born and bred londoner, the place the hotel is situated isn't the best location in london but it's not the den of evil either. Don't be put off by some of the reviews scaremongering you into not staying at the hotel.
Let's look at the good stuff......
It's cheap, it's probably gonna set you back 60-80 gbp for a double, most deacent hostels will cost you 30 a night in London so take that into consideration before booking.
It has working air conditioning.
The bed linen was clean with the bed semi comfortable.
It has a tv, fridge and toiletries.
The bad
It's got terrible transport links. Nearest tube a good 25 mins walk away (if your fairly fit) busses do pass but takes ages and the drivers think it's possible to recreate F1 racing.
Not great for wheelchair access.
The rooms are basic, no bin, limited plug sockets. Dodgy furniture.
Yes there were broken sockets, small mold growth in the bathroom, I wouldn't want to check the carpet behind the bed and my shower cubical doors wouldn't close.
Speaking of the shower I'm...Who ever graded this hotel clearly left with more money than they came in with!!

Speaking of the shower I'm sure if you can adjust the settings using nanotechnology you may be able to shower without either feeling an artic storm on your back or the heat from the surface of a scorched sun.
Yes had I of experienced all this and had paid 100+ I would be the first to dam this hotel to the nil point of the TripAdvisor recommendations but I didn't pay that price and my expectations were low to start with.
My biggest disappointment was it claims on the address to be wateroo/southwark which to me is within walking distance of the station, how wrong was I. Shame on me for not realising this in my own town!!
Also to note heard no noise so actually had a fairly peaceful sleep but maybe I just stayed on a boring night in Southwark? ?
