Stayed here for two nights.

Good points.
Good location. Friendly staff, who took their time explaining the London transport system to us country folk. Handy for cycling in to London along the canal or for getting a bus then train/tube into London. The ladies toilet/shower block was clean.

Bad points.
Quite a few permanent workers living on site, almost all male with the result that the mens toilet/shower block was disgusting, especially at night when the workers returned and had showers etc. Floor flooded, mud everywhere, toilets revolting and unflushed. The whole thing looked very tired. It needs to be cleaned at least twice a day and refurbished.

Thank you for your review and feedback following your recent stay with us. We’re happy to hear you found our staff friendly and made use of our transport links to London and took advantage of some of our cycling routes in the area. However, we’re very sorry to hear the men’s shower facilities were not up to standard during your stay on this occasion. The shower blocks are cleaned regularly by our staff and we have now undertaken a deep clean of both the male and female ablution blocks following our busy summer season so should you return to our campsite. We hope to see you again soon

always a pleasure to camp here as everyone is welcoming, friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and the shop open from 8 am ( winter hours are shorter than summer time)
There is a bus outside the main gate and a quick trip into the next town will allow you to do a full shop is needed or the underground if you want to go into central london

Room tip: let them know what time you are to get to them as they lock the gates at 8 pm

Summer staff superb. Sad when warn us winter staff are horrible and turns out true. Very rude unhelpful people . Jobsworths. Pity as I praised summer staff. Horrible place if on holiday. Theft and gypsys everywhere . No security on site and again winter staff just point blank rude and seem angry have to even get on feet to deal with you if camping in London go elsewhere. 2/10

Some people who've stayed here seem to struggle that it's not on the tube but it was only 20 mins on the (regular) train to Liverpool St Station. Ponders End station is about a 15-minute walk away. The site was busy (late July) but didn't feel too crowded either. Staff are lovely. Showers were okay - they worked & were warm. We were a bit worried initially about security for tents as you're not behind any fencing (although landscaped grass mounds act as a boundary). We're regular visitors to London as my HQ is based in Marylebone - took me less than an hour to get there for a meeting. We would definitely camp there again - and with the knowledge that you can't park car next to tent (so maybe we would bring our trolley next time)

Decided to give the camp site a second chance this year when we were again taking part in the London Surrey bike ride.
The management have decided not to have tents in the central area which is kept for 'glamping' and this has detracted from the experience for me. The pitches are shoved in a corner and the car parking some distance away which means that you have to carry all your gear over and then in reverse.
Had a disaster when we had to take a cold shower on the Saturday morning. No sympathy or apology from the staff just a 'the engineer is coming' response.
Should really offer a refund or discount to the many people who had to suffer the ice bucket challenge!
As others have said, think the staff could really do with a lesson in customer service and charm.
Third time lucky??? Might have to look elsewhere in future
