Rooms are very small and lacked the comforts I expect at this price. Friendly staff.
Location OK but only really handy for British Museum if you're a tourist.

The Holiday Inn Bloomsbury is well located, close to Russell Square and within easy walking distance from Euston, the British Museum, Covent Garden and theatre-land. We didn't use the tube once during our stay.

There is a small shopping development adjacent, with a good Waitrose.

Although the hotel’s architecture is undistinguished, the rooms are well-equipped and fairly comfortable, if quite small.

The staff were generally friendly and helpful, although the receptionist forgot to tell us that the lift is key-operated, and we spent a few frustrating minutes trying to figure this out.

The buffet breakfast was good standard although I couldn’t understand why they were playing Neil Young’s Cowgirl in the Sand as almost inaudible background music – it should be played loud, and not in a hotel restaurant!

The hotel is also very close to the excellent Foundling Museum, and a few streets away from the Charles Dickens museum.

Dear Kate & Ian,

Thank you for your detailled review about the hotel. I was pleased to read that you had a positive experience at the hotel and that the staff were friendly and helpful. I am sorry that reception didn't inform on how to operate the lifts. I will discuss this with Simone, our Front Office Manager.

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon. Kind regards,

I have been here a few times over the past few weeks and will be staying again during the next two weeks at least.
It's a well kept hotel which looks good inside and out. The standard rooms are adequate in size but no more. The executive rooms are much better with more space plus a couple of complimentary extras.
One of the other bonuses is the number of nearby restaurants serving all tastes.
One slight issue I have is breakfast. If paid for normally it's about £16 but reduced to £11.50 if vouchers are bought. This is a poor approach and far too expensive when compared to other hotels I have been in.
Overall it's good but shame about the breakfast.

Stayed 4 nights, but the checkin was too long. We waited about 15 minutes before we got our room keys. Having driven 300 miles into London, all we wanted was to checkin, shower and relax - not linger at the reception counter! To be sure, we were the only ones checking in and there were 3 staff on duty. Seemed like one was a trainee and had to ask the senior for almost every detail. When we called the reception counter from the room, there was no answer! What a let down for a Holiday Inn! Location is great and next to Brunswick Centre.

Room Tip: Avoid low floors as there was a lot of chatter into the wee morning hours from apparently drunk and...

A well located London hotel just yards from Russell Square and within easy walking distance from the British Museum, Covent Garden and Oxford Street.
It has the advantage of being on a side street away from the ambulance and police routes (they certainly love their sirens in London!) For those not used to the noise of a big city it's rooms are also double glazed.
What it lacks in external appeal or archticeture is made up for on the inside with a good standard of fittings and facilities. Rooms are slightly smaller than its other Holiday Inn neighbours at Regent's Park and Kings Cross but not by much. It's still quite comfortable and the air-con works well.
Staff are always helpful and friendly.
Buffet beakfast is to a good standard although the restaurant can be busy.

Room Tip: As with most hotels it has 'talking lifts' which can be heard from rooms directly adjacent...
