The room was nice, but we soon discovered one of the twin beds was broken. It took a lot of time to get anything done about it. We were told since it was prepaid that they couldn't do anything, and tried to offer us very little help. We were finally moved to their sister hotel and initially were there for one night then to move back in hopes they would fix the bed. A broken bed should have been noticed when the room was cleaned since it was the wooden frame and wheels off the bed were scattered on the floor.

Dear Guest
Thank you for completing the survey on Tripadvisor.
I do apologize for the inconvenience caused during your resent stay with us. Thank you for bringing this to our attention!
The matter was investigated and dealt with in the proper manner between the Housekeeping and Maintenance departments.
I did contact our sister hotel Park International and they assured me that you had a very good stay there.
I trust that this incident will not keep you from staying with us again in the future and I would like to invite you to contact me direct at the hotel for your future reservation and I will personally take care of your booking and stay!
Kind Regards

2 minute walk from gloucester road, excellent location!! 3 stops from victoria station! Picadilly, district and center line!

Bfast really basic!

The rooms are really small, but we had a huge terrace!!! Great for summer days! The double beds are quite small as well and average comfort. Hotel is clean, quiet.

Price ok because of the location.

Having been to London many times, we chose this hotel for it's location. Really close proximity to tube station, and fast, easy access to all the touristy parts of central London. We knew that we would barely be in the room, except to sleep a few hours and shower - so the hotel served it's purpose superbly. You can easily spend double on an equal quality hotel, with a worse location in London. So we felt satisfied with what we got for the price.

The room is tiny, but it was clean, with a brand new, modern (tiny!) bathroom. We probably ended up in the worst possible room - tiny standard room in the "basement" (just below street level with a small window). Still, it served it's function, and price and location made it tolerable. Definitely request a higher floor. I would not recommend a standard room for an extended stay, as it will get claustrophobic. We only spent 2 nights here, for a quick whirlwind sight-seeing trip.

Overall, we were satisfied with our experience. I would not qualify this as a 4 star hotel by American standards (3 stars at best). Again, I would recommend the Cromwell for a short stay, especially if you plan to spend most of your time sight-seeing all day and just need a well located home base. Location and proximity to tube station is fantastic for tourist attractions and access to Heathrow. However, after saying all this, if you have the funds - spend more and get a bigger room or stay at a nicer hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms are really small, so mentally prepare yourself. But they are clean and modern. Would not recom...

You'll feel young again and like you're back in university, because unless you are very lucky this will be the smallest room you have ever been in. It is a college dorm room- not a 4 star experience by ANY stretch of the imagination.

One must turn sideways to walk between the bed and the wall. The hotel itself is a rabbit warren of endless hallways. We saw a few people taking pics of their tiny rooms for the sheer novelty value. Perhaps they are submitting them to the Guinness Book of Records people?

Positive reviews of this hotel deny all logic. They must have been from the very few who had normal sized rooms. Stairs leading to these postage stamp sized rooms also present a big problem for hauling luggage. My Partner fell down a flight of said stairs leading to our room, vowing never to return.

On the positive side- we did see Pippa Middleton shopping at the Waitrose across the street, so the location is good. (However I do believe our room was likely the size of Pippa's loo.)

Be forewarned! There are much better choices in the area. There was a Crowne Plaza and a Holiday Inn near by.

Room Tip: Lose weight and luggage before checking in.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your comments regarding your recent stay with us. We always welcome feedback - both positive and negative and use it as a tool to improve our service and facilities.

I do apologize that we did not exceed your expectations regarding our room size but some of our rooms are smaller due to the design and layout of the property. Unfortunately most London hotels face this problem.

I do hope you would consider staying with us again. Should you decide to visit, please contact the hotel direct and we will make sure that you get a complimentary upgrade.

Kind Regards

We got a free upgrade to the garden room, which was lovely. The room was nice, but it was freezing cold, as the aircon turned off every time we left the room. It also lacked mini bar and a minimum of bathroom amenities. The room was VERY clean.

Some of the staff were very service minded, whilst others not (i.e. We were told to wait 15 minutes to check in because they were too few persons working at check in time, we had to wait 10 minutes to get breakfast served the last day, even though we came at opening hours). The breakfast room was a little claustrophobic and the breakfast options were few and boring.

The location of the hotel is great. If going back to London on a travel budget, I'll definitively stay in the area of the hotel again and will consider staying at the Cromwell.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write your review.

I am delighted to read that you will consider staying with again. I apologize on behalf of the team for the wait on arrival and in the breakfast room. The hotel has been extremely busy, which is good for us however this is not an excuse for poor service.

Our Breakfast Room is due to be refurbished shortly and these plans are currently being finalised. Your comments regarding the variety of items has been past onto the breakfast chef to review.

With regards to heating/air conditioning in the bedroom, please leave the key card in the slot on leaving the room. This will ensure the temperature is kept to the set requirement and on your return the bedroom will be to your comfort.

We look forward to welcoming you back.

Take care,
Nicki Ristow
