We stayed for 2 nights at the Comodore in London. The check in was a bit chaotic and took us longer that we expect to go to our room. I think the system the hotel uses are not fast enough. Lots of guests waiting. After we got our keys we got a ground floor twin room that was extremely small and with the window facing straight the pavement. We asked to change the room and we got a first floor twin, facing the back. The room was really nice, with a good level of comfort. The hotel is old ans shows it's age, but the the service from the staff is really good, so is the location. If you manage to get a good room, I am sure you will be happy like we were. The hotel is near Hyde Park and Lancaster Gate Tube Station. I will consider the Comodore in the future.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor are really small and might face the pavement where anyone can see inside the room if the window is open.

The location was good, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was okay, had better, had worse. The bed was comfy and the air con worked. Downside is that the bathroom is absolutely tiny and the shower wasn't mounted to the wall. But you get what you pay for and we slept well so nothing to really complain about.

Location was brilliant- close to underground and located in a lovely area. But the standard of then room we were given was ridiculous. Wifi didn't work because we were in the townhouse which wasn't our choice. Also the air con didn't work which was awful in the heat. We pointed this out to a cleaner who said she would tell reception to fix it which they didn't. Headboard of bed was broken side of mattress showing and disgusting, bathroom outdated and overall the room was tired and not a good quality at all. Tea & coffee wasn't replenished and bin wasn't emptied.

Room Tip: Do not let them put you in the townhouse!

it is a really good location right by Hyde Park but there must be better hotels around rather than this one. Can't believe they wanted a £50 security deposit, for what?? I got placed in a tiny room on the ground floor at the back that had seen better days definitely hadn't been updated since the early 90's

The staff were pleasant but the overall experience was poor. We started in a room on the 6th floor that on entry had a strong odour and a firedoor between the bedroom and bathroom. We left the window wide open but by midnight headaches and nausea drove us to request another room. (Apparently new carpet, underlay and glue can have that affect but staff chose to use the room anyway) Unfortunately the lift doesn't go to 7th floor so it took several trips up very poor stairs to get resettled but we couldn't completely exit our room until we had retrieved our passports from the safe which at 1 am would not open. After waiting a further twenty minutes, a staff member came to open the safe but initially per protocol asked for identification first which of course was in the safe. Fortunately staff member saw the irony and opened it anyway. I would probably agree with their advertising 'There's no place like Commodore Hotel' but in a negative way and as for 'modern, stylish and chic' given our experience of the the two rooms we stayed in and the multiple level layout of the layout 6th & 7th this phrase is downright misleading. In addition be wary of 'Free high speed WiFi' -this is available for 1 appliance only otherwise there is a charge. This is definitely NOT a 4 star as advertised.

Room Tip: The best part of the hotel is the exterior -tiny lift -need to be best friends to use it.
