For a 2-3 nights stay in west central London it may be one of the hidden gems. In good weather location is at walking distance from Paddington, where quite likely you are to arrive from Heathrow anyway. To the parks it is not more than 150metres, and less than 15 minutes great walk to Royal Albert Hall. With the street plan intelligence Portobello road is also very near, so is Notting Hill. To the east, from Oxford street shopping you are with less than 10 quid black taxi ride. If you have one hour, and the weather is good, take a walk through the parks, up to Westminster, with a must green grass sit-in lunch at Green Park (sandwich bars aplenty in Piccadily street alongside). If you think of value for money, imagine 'equivalent' of Hilton in Park Lane, with 1/4 price and the room at 1/3 of the size, but all amenities (bar fitness/pool) on par. Bathrooms are marble, rooms 'Ralf Lauren'esque', not designer signed but fabrics much better than at any 3-star in central London I recall. Ask for tea in the lobby area, and land in deep armchair and look around - this area is exemplary 1920s interior, post WWI London, cute. One last thing - breakfast easily 4 star but the breakfast room is pretty cramped, so come early or late.

Room Tip: While booking, if you care, it may be worthwhile to ask for a 'quiet room', backyard rooms a...

We stayed here for 3 nights in December. The hotel is in a great location next to Hyde park and walking distance from a lot of the attractions and very close to bus and underground stations. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

We booked a standard double room. The rooms are very small with only a very small cupboard and no space to store or unpack 2 big suitcases. The double room is actually not big enough for 2 people and their luggage. I would definitely recommend that a bigger room is booked for more than one person.

Overall we enjoyed our stay, especially due to the great location.

Room Tip: Try to book a bigger room for more than one person.

I stayed there for a few days last spring. The location is excellent:in a very nice square close to Lancaster Gate tube station . Surrounded by restaurants and bars and within a walking distance from Paddington station .Just a few steps away from Hyde Park. The hotel is newly refurbished with a very nice atmosphere. Breakfast was not inclded in my rates but there are many places where you can go to around there.
There is an excellent Lebanese retsaurant at a very close distance of which unfortunately I don't remember the name. Definutely a good choice when in London.

A small covenient and quiet hotel ideally located for the West End or for attractions in Kensington.
Rooms all vary and are often unusual proportions but are all clean and functional and most importantly very quiet at night.
Breakfast highly organised and with a definite European bias,
