Came here for afternoon tea and was initially very happy with the friendly doorman who walked me right in and to the tea room. However this is where things started to go downhill.
We were seated at a table which was half used with cutlery and glasses missing.
We waited 20 minutes before someone came to take our order for tea.
Waiters were unable to understand me - the level of English really was poor and this caused frustration when I wanted to inform them that the sandwiches they served me were stale.
Quality of sandwiches really was very poor as were the scones and desserts. Nobody came at all to ask if everything was ok and to offer us fresh tea. When you are paying £49 each, surely this is the least you can do?
Waiters were setting up the room for the evening dinner service which made us feel very uncomfortable and as if they were trying to signal for us to ‘get out’. And to top it all off, nobody even came and said thank you when we left.
All in all, really poor service and I had resulted in a disappointing trip into London. I shall not be recommending this place to my friends.More
