This is a charming and quaint little hotel. From the minute we arrived we were treated warmly by the staff. Since it was our first visit to London we were not familiar with the area. Alex was a gem! She made excellent recommendations on what sights to visit and made sure we knew how to get there. When we returned from a long day she had a smile on her face and wanted to hear all about our experiences. The 2 rooms we had were very small but adequate. The bathroom in Room 11 is very small and it is hard to maneuver and the shower was very hard to adjust but the staff made up for the inconvenience. The location is lovely-quiet residential area and a short walk to restaurants and stores. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. So glad it was our first experience with London.

nice charming hotel with friendly staff .
Our bed was splendid , we did sleep very well.
negative : the bathroom was squized in a wardrobe and yes the breakfast is not "waaw" , to pay extra for an egg or bacon.
the neighborhood is quiet.
bikes on 100 m from the hotel. Portobello market is around the corner.
the metro stations are at app.10 min walk.

Room Tip: ask a room with a decent bathroom

Most charming boutique hotel in the fashionable Notting Hill.
Staff very helpfull, kind and attentive to their guests.
Yes, rooms are small, but very very nice and charming decorated, bed is absolutely perfect and when you in the evening return to your room, the bed is made and slippers and kimono is ready for you.
Breakfast in your room is an option without extra cost - otherwise served in the "library" where you also can have your afternoon tea and/or the "before-going-out-for-dinner-drink".
I absolutely can recommend this place, and will certainly return (hopefully very soon). Thank you to all the staff at Portobello Hotel for an excellent stay :-) I am now addicted to your good service.
PS - good luck to Douglas with his new job :-)

Room Tip: Room 11 - view to the street

Stayed in newly refurbished room 1, lower ground floor but plenty of natural light (no photos on their website yet). Gorgeous room with little courtyard with incredible sea shell decorations, open bath and 2 sinks (separate loo!), big comfy bed, indulgent bath products, creative and eclectically decorated. Perfect stroll back from an evening at Holland Park Opera. A great London find. And they even gifted us a bottle of Prosecco as it was our 15th wedding anniversary. Can't fault it.
