Having stayed in hotels around the world, I have met with good service in many forms.
My stay at The Berkeley opened my eyes to the possibilities of excellent service becoming one of the defining features of an establishment however.
The Berkeley is a luxury hotel, no doubt, but the feelings of contentment, relaxation and satisfaction it managed to imbue me with can only come from a mixture of good management, and good staff training.
The junior suite was very comfortable with an excellent bed.
We were unable to get a table with Marcus, dinner was very good indeed however, with a very good house champagne.
The breakfast in the Caramel Room was the very beat hotel breakfast I have eaten.
An experience like this is not supposed to be cheap, but in my view it represented good value for money.

The Berkeley's "pret a port tea" afternoon tea is simply stunning. Try for yourself!

Disapointed by the first impression of this hotel, i thought it would be outstanding as i had heard lots of good things about the level of service from the staff. We stood in the lobby not sure where we should go, and we were ignored by the staff for several minutes, so decided to leave and go and have a meal elsewhere.

Coming from America for a trip to Englanf, the berkeley was our first hotel. Getting sick on the plane, I was in desperate need of some rest and relaxation. I'm happy to report that getting in at around 10:00PM, the hotel was more than helpful with the bags and accommodating with our needs. We ordered everything we wanted to off of room service and was in our room 25-30 minutes later. Wi-Fi is free and easy to access and beds are comfy as everything. Definitely a solid hotel and is in top 5 hotels. Have stayed at four seasons, Sanderson, claridges, 11 Hotel etc.

We arrived to be told we had been upgraded, always a good start, then asked when we would like the champagne delivered - even better.
Our junior suite for 3 was lovely, beds in this hotel are really comfortable. The service is excellent. Good breakfast choice in the Caramel Room and all requests looked after with a smile.
My one slight disappointment was our trip to the spa. There is work being done in that area so treatments were being done in bedrooms, not a problem I thought but the room was freezing and it spoiled my spa experience. The treatment itself and the therapist were excellent but it is not easy to chill out when you are cold. The therapist was aware and she was cold too! I was quite vocal in my disappointment but felt it was ignored. I checked with my daughter and she had similar issues. Note to staff- bedrooms are bigger, heat them before treatments. Pool area is lovely and warm thank goodness!
