This place is a must-see if you are visiting London for the first time as we are. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time here, as there is quite a lot to do!

Went for the Egyptian collection but somehow I didn't find it as atmospheric as I expected. The amount of people there was maddening, not to mention the throngs of school kids swarming about the place. That certainly took away from the experience, but in less busy days the museum must be a joy.

Wonderful place to spend time looking at the permanent exhibits - whatever your interest, you will find it there. They also do superb special exhibitions. HOWEVER, what has happened to the food in the restaurant upstairs?! It used to serve a range of good quality food but yesterday it was overpriced for what was served and way below the expected standard. My advice would be to enjoy the museum and choose a place outside for your meal!

This free museum is an absolute must visit.
We saw a large collection of Egyptian mummies, but also very big statues. A must see is also the stone of rosetta. The building is a mix of old vs. new.
You can spend an entire day at the museum and still not see everything.
if you need to go to the toilet, keep in mind that there can be waiting lines up to 20 minutes (women)

This is a must stop for any history or bible fan. The British plundered the world in the 19th century and most of the good stuff is at this museum. Carefully laid out and beautifully displayed artifacts. It is ever so enjoyable. It is free to enter the museum and just a great day.
