My daughter and stayed at the Lavender Guest House for 3 nights in May. The room was clean and had comfortable beds. Very nice to have the opportunity to make our own food in a clean and well equipped kitchen. Confortable bathroom. The host was very friendly and helpful. Clapham is a nice " town" only 20 minutes with train/tube to Oxford steet. In Clapham you will find many nice stores, restaurants and pubs. We will stay here next time we visit London , for sure.

I booked a room for two family members in Feburary 2017 for their visit in June (I don't have space in my flat). The reviews on here were good and I visited the B&B where the owner's daughter showed me a couple of rooms, as well as the breakfast room. We settled on a small room with a private balcony where they would be able to smoke.

I came with them to check in last week and the owner himself was there. He'd had a cancellation and seemed desperate to 'upgrade' them to his best room for a 'very special price'. This room was lovely and spaceous but did not have a balcony, so they wanted to keep their original room. He was annoyed by this and was not happy about them smoking on the balcony. I, however, referred to the agreement made with his daughter at the time of the booking.

He then informed us that the B&B now longer served breakfast due to staff shortages, but that they could buy breakfast at a nearby cafe for a 'very special price' - 15% discount. The room was at the same rate however. I informed him that breakfast had been included when I made the booking so he knocked £5 off the rate, but seemed to be under the impression that I was asking for a favour - he didn't seem to grasp the difference between breakfast being served and included, and having to walk down the street and pay for a breakfast.

Throuhout the week he kept asking them about their use of the balcony, commented on them not being in their room much, why they didn't want room service every day etc. - generally being a pain in the backside. His daughter and the housekeeping staff were all lovely and pleaseant, but because of the owner's demeanour and behaviour I will not recommend this hotel any more visitors. They'll be better off in the Travellodge down the road.

What a lovely place to stay, so close to London, 2 train stations from Victoria Station to Clapham Junction station or a cheap taxi ride, convenient close to great restaurants and the host is charming - with reasonable rates. Also clean and tidy and after a long day in London you can sit in the garden with a nice quiet glass of wine. This quest house offers everything - you wont be disappointed. Looking forward to going back.

Room Tip: All rooms a lovely, clean and tidy at a reasonable rate
