When we arrived the door was opened by an unsmiling man who didn't even bother to say hello. Our room was up three flights of stairs, was very small, the curtains were falling down and wouldn't close properly, the street was very noisy with sirens and traffic roaring past all night. The bed was OK but the pillows were sparse and lumpy. The hotel offered breakfast for £4.50, - the kitchen was in the basement and there was bread, tea, coffee, milk, eggs etc - but we were expected to cook our own breakfast, and wash our own dishes and then pay for the privilege! Plus competing in the small space with other guests also trying to make their own breakfast. The room had no tea making facilities; if we wanted tea or coffee we had to go down to the kitchen to make our own. Just like the manager who first checked us in, none of the other staff bothered to greet us or even smile. I asked for a hairdryer (none in the room) and was told one would be brought to me later, but it wasn't. Only one member of staff was friendly and tried to help when I again asked for a hairdryer the following morning. He searched but couldn't find one so he lent me his 'own personal hairdryer' which I appreciated. He at least was polite and friendly. The day of checkout we asked for a receipt be printed off to take away with us. However it was not there and the manager very grumpily and grudgingly printed one for us, all the time asking what did we want it for and why hadn't we asked for it in advance? . The only good points to this hotel is the price (it is a budget hotel) and the bedlinen and bathroom were clean. It is also near to Bow Rd and Bow Church tube stations. So if you want cheap but not cheerful take your choice - but we will not be going again.

Room Tip: If you have to go there, get a room at the back and near the ground floor

Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my life.
The staff were ignorant, didn`t speak, ignored my email request for an early check in (although wasn`t really a problem as we could leave luggage there).
When we finally arrived back at the hotel later that day, we entered our room to find a man praying in there!!
No apology.
The room was on the top floor, which wasn`t a problem but was extremely hot. There was an air conditioning machine which was very much needed.
There were bulbs missing from light fitting & a lamp at the bed side that had a shade crushed to pieces looking like it had been thrown around the room. We didn`t bother with breakfast.
We paid £90 through Booking.com only find a guy walked in off the street to be offered a room for £60.
Save your money......

Visited during the winter, the room was cozy, the shower was hot and there was decent wifi. The people in charge are very friendly. There are lots of 'free' stuff in the kitchen and dining area. You can have fruits, cereal, milk, cookies, crisps - all free of charge and at any hr of the day. It's not a 5 star hotel but you get what you paid for and actually end up positively surprised. Would recommend, go back (if you want luxury, this ain't it).

Ok and polite hotel staff but the rooms were dark and dirty. I had a room with shared Bathroom. The bathroom was disgusting with bad smell and dirty walls. The kitchen was over flooding with food and the fridge was dirty and had bad smell. Price was ok but you get poor standard.
