Absolutely disgusting, firstly we were left in the hallway for an 1hr 10mins after many phone calls which were ignored. Then when some girl cameshe let us in and could believe it. There was a bed on a bare floor a wardrobe which was shoved up against a set of doors which backed onto the kitchen a mirror and an heater on the wall. Pulled the worn quilt sheet was almost see through so thin, dirty with marks and hair and the smell was awful look like someone just got out of it. And they only take cash. Don't stay here.

My partner and I stayed at the L4 Studios and Guesthouse for 3 days in mid December 2015. We were visiting Liverpool to attend a Liverpool FC match, and to our surprise on our arrival, we were literally just across thenroad from Anfield Stadium. The L4 backs on to a great little pub called The Arkles, which is a nice play to relax after a day of checking out the town - the town is well serviced by buses passing Anfield Stadium frequently throughout the day. Ever since we arrived, the owner, Alan, greeted us, made us feel welcome and made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay as comfortable as possible. When we were departing, we had waited almost an hour for a taxi following the Liverpool game, and weren't having much luck and it looked like we were going to miss our train - which would have meant rescheduling flights etc. Alan (owner of L4) approached us and offered to drive us to Liverpool Lime St train station. It turns out they did the same for another couple that day. I don't think this service would be possible to extend to all their guests, but i hope it shows that the L4, whilst it is budget accommodation, is in a great spot, has everything you need and has the nicest owners you could ask for who will make sure you are well accommodated for. Thanks to Alan and wife Vic, we'll definitely see you next time we visit Liverpool.

On arrival at the L4 Studios we were greeted and welcomed in such a lovely warm relaxed way, just how a friendly guesthouse should be...
Shown to our studio room we have no complaints it was spacious warm with very comfy beds, the kitchenette was perfect for our 3 night stay we were provided with fresh milk croissants bread, cereals, coffee, tea, fresh apple and orange juice...
We asked it there was a TV and wifi as no TV in the room the owners fetched a TV for us and explained delay with wifi which is perfectly acceptable....
Our first ever visit to Liverpool and the owners bent over backwards to look after us throughout our stay...
To say the guesthouse has only been open for a couple of weeks what a grand job they are doing...
Our front door key seemed to be a little tricky but soon got the hang of it and everyone knows new locks and keys are awkward at first.....
We will happily stay here again and recommend to people to stay as so friendly down to earth and relaxed... It's the perfect location as not far from anything especially if there is a Liverpool match on and thanks to the owners of L4 we got first class information and went out on a match night soaked up the atmosphere visiting the famous spots.....
Thank you to the owners of L4 Studios for making our first visit and stay in Liverpool so good

Our stay at L4 was bewildering at best.
We booked the B&B online and received a text from the seemingly friendly owner, confirming the booking asking if we wanted a twin room or a double bed and if we could pay in cash as they did not have a working card machine. Upon arrival we were struggling to find the B&B even using sat nav. The B&B had no sign, and a woman was stood outside some shops looking confused. We walked past the woman and she asked if we were looking for the B&B. The woman took us to a door down a side road. She explained that the B&B had only been open two weeks and they had not yet got a sign for the premises.
The B&B was clean, as you would expect for a property that had only been in use for two weeks, however that was probably the only good thing about it. The room was incredibly basic; no television, mirror or other amenities. Just outside of our room was the communal kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom had no lock on the door so a shower would have been out of the question. There was also no mirror in the bathroom either. Both kitchen and bathroom were clean but woefully under stocked. The owner advised that they were waiting for their daughter to return to stock up the kitchen; she also explained that a carrier bag with food would be left outside the door for us for the morning. The kitchen had a miniscule amount of coffee, tea and some bread, jam and very small amount milk, all of which were running low and which she said would be stocked up that day. When we left the following morning this had still not been done. The booking website also advised that there was WiFi, which we could not access.
We were also provided with a set of keys; one for the door to our room and the other for the front door of the property, which we were situated at the front of. The front door to the premises had two locks, and after trying both keys in both locks we could get neither to work. The door was on a latch to prevent it from shutting which was very disconcerting. At least the lock to our room was functional.
Then there was the sleep, we were awoken twice in the night by people banging on the door of the B&B and also our bedroom window, the latch on the front door had been disabled. Twice I had to get up and let what I had to assume were guests into the B&B. I could hear them trying to contact the owners by calling them and they obviously weren’t answering. It seems totally unacceptable that the guests did not have a key that let them into the premises, and even worse that a paying guest had to wake up and get fully dressed TWICE to let them in when the owner couldn’t be bothered.
When we awoke there was no breakfast placed by the door as advised, the kitchen had not been stocked whatsoever and the owner was not responding to text messages. My partner text the owner twice, asking where breakfast was and what we were supposed to do with our door keys, however they did not reply to either.
If the owner had been contactable we would have demanded a refund but they clearly weren’t interested in their guests as they did not respond to anyone. The fact that we paid in full, in cash made it seem as though they did not care once they had our money.

Room Tip: Don't pick the one by the entrance.
