Must say this was probably our 8/9th visit here and all I can say is that I’m gutted it took us so long to realise how much we’ve been ripped off - tiny portions in their set menus-especially on the crispy duck - one pancake per person served with hardly any duck - much better quality and quantity elsewhere in liverpool city centre for a fraction of the cost. Staff varied from abrupt and disinterested to genuinely not having adequate English to understand requests and more information regarding their menus and the ingredients used. They happily took a booking for 6 people for 9:30pm then after we placed our order after waiting almost 20 mins for drinks they announced kitchen would be closing shortly and that main courses would be served with starters - given that it was a set menu this didn’t prove a problem - other than maybe explaining small portions - we don’t have big appetites but nothing was left which us rare for a meal of this kind - I’m all for not wasting food but yet we had an abundance of rice and got charged extra for plain rice as waiter failed to understand a request for an alternative to fried rice with seafood for one of the party with seafood allergy.
Apart from the stunning view over the Mersey - disappointing and definitely won’t be returning.
